✨GA Appreciation✨ As the year comes to a close, we want to take a moment to recognize the SLHS graduate assistants, Hailey & Caitlin and the SLHC graduate assistant, Sam.

Hailey & Caitlin- From designing bulletin boards that brighten our spaces, to managing social media and keeping our community connected, to handling administrative responsibilities that keep everything running smoothly, to supporting peers through tutoring —your impact is everywhere.

Sam- In the clinic, you’ve been essential to day-to-day operations: preparing materials, building an informative bulletin board that is truly client- focused, troubleshooting in the moment, and ensuring that everything flows seamlessly behind the scenes.

You’ve all created spaces for collaboration, and helped build a genuine sense of camaraderie within the cohorts. You have helped shape a supportive and collaborative community within our program. You consistently go above and beyond—not for recognition, but because you care—and that makes all the difference.
Thank you all for the time, energy, and heart you’ve poured into this year 💙💛

Congratulations to Alyssa Bedard on a beautiful and thought-provoking thesis defense!

Your work challenged us to think differently about communication and reminded us that:
• Echolalia is intentional and meaningful communication
• Communicative intent can exist, even when it’s not immediately clear
• An inclusive understanding of communication and neurodiversity is essential to ethical, effective practice

Your perspective on meeting clients where they are, and building from their communication rather than changing it, was especially meaningful.

We are so proud of you and excited to see the impact you’ll make in the field!!
