There is a life-size horse pelvis in a box in my living room and it’s mocking me.

I desperately want to open it.

However, at the moment it is a closed box if I open it. I have to inspect the pelvis, admire the pelvis, find a home for the pelvis, dispose of the packaging, and somehow resist reorganizing my entire office around the pelvis.

So for now, the Pelvis of Temptation remains sealed in its cardboard fortress, whispering:

“You teach equine anatomy. A quick peek couldn’t hurt…”

I remain strong.

For now.

A quick reminder to save the date — our Intro to Equine Acupressure Clinic is coming up on June 14.

I’ll be cohosting this hands-on introductory clinic with Linda Crabtree of Circle of Peace. We’ll be covering foundational acupressure concepts, practical point work, and how to observe and respond to the horse during sessions.

This class is designed to be approachable for horse owners while still offering useful insight for equine professionals.

We’ll be keeping the group small to allow for discussion and hands-on learning.

In a Let Animals Lead® class, our most profound lessons don’t come from a manual—they come from the animals themselves.

When we gather at Rein in a Dream on May 24 & 31, we’ll be practicing with a truly diverse "teaching staff". From the steady, grounded presence of the horses and goats to the quiet, ancient wisdom of Helen the turtle, each animal offers a unique lesson in presence.

Because we honor their agency and space, the connection is always on their terms. Whether it’s a curious chicken or a peaceful chinchilla, we learn to:

🌿 Listen to their subtle boundaries.
🌿 Offer Reiki without expectation.
🌿 Simply share a space of peace.

This experiential approach is what makes Level 1 so transformative. You aren't just learning a method; you are learning to communicate in a language that every species understands.

We currently have a couple more spots remaining in our circle.

At NBCAAM, our Code of Ethics exists to protect animals, clients, and uphold the credibility of animal acupressure and massage as a profession. Integrity means committing to do no harm, practicing within our scope, and always acting in the best interest of both animal and human clients.

Our practitioners are held to the highest standards - from honest communication and confidentiality, to continued education, accurate recordkeeping, and ethical collaboration with veterinary professionals. We respect the boundaries of our training, refer when necessary, and never make claims or guarantees that can’t be supported.

Professional integrity also means transparency. NBCAAM-certified practitioners represent their education, credentials, and abilities honestly, advertise ethically, and provide services only within the scope of their training. This protects not only the animals we serve, but the trust placed in our profession as a whole.

When practitioners lead with integrity, animals receive safer care, clients receive clearer guidance, and our field continues to grow with credibility and respect.

Integrity. Accountability. Excellence. These aren’t just ideals. They’re our responsibility.
