Care Tip Tuesday 💡

As always, every tip comes straight from our care team, sharing the best advice they've learned from years of hands-on experience.

Today's Topic: Visits

Today's tip: "When you visit can be just as important as how you visit. Many visits happen in the evening because it’s convenient for our schedules. But for a loved one living with dementia, evening hours can often bring increased confusion, restlessness, or agitation.

When possible, try planning visits for earlier in the day, when your loved one may feel more alert, comfortable, and engaged."

A simple change in timing can make a visit more enjoyable for everyone.

💡Care Tip Tuesday💡

As always, every tip comes straight from our care team based on their decades of experience.

Today's Tip: For someone living with dementia, a busy restaurant, crowded event, or noisy gathering can quickly become overwhelming. Choosing a quieter setting with fewer distractions can make it easier to focus, connect, and enjoy the time together.

Sometimes, a small change in environment can make a big difference. 💙

Today's Topic: Dressing with Ease 👕

This week's care tip: "If your loved one does not want to take a favorite outfit off and put on a new outfit, buy similar outfits. If the outfit is comfortable and clean, it doesn't matter if it is different."

Today’s Topic: Connection Through Dementia

We often ask questions like, “What did you do today?” or “Did you eat?” without thinking twice. But for someone living with dementia, questions that rely on short-term memory can be difficult or even impossible to answer. Instead, try focusing on the present moment or using observations to start a conversation. A simple shift in how we communicate can reduce frustration and create more positive, meaningful moments together.

Today's Topic: Visits

When visiting a loved one with dementia, it’s common to feel like you should stay for a long time. But longer visits can sometimes become tiring or overwhelming, and a short visit can be just as meaningful.

Even a few minutes spent looking through photos, listening to a favorite song, sharing a snack, or simply sitting together can provide comfort and connection. When it comes to dementia care, focus on the quality of the moment rather than the length of the visit. 💙
