😱 We can’t get over this new Ocean Jasper haul - the quality of these pieces is absolutely ridiculous.
Ocean Jasper is one of those stones that always stops us - because it looks almost designed, but it’s actually formed through incredibly slow geological processes deep within volcanic rock.
It comes from a small region in northwestern Madagascar, where silica-rich fluids once filled ancient cavities and gas pockets. Over time, these spaces crystallized into the orbicular patterns that make Ocean Jasper so distinctive.
Although often treated as one material, Ocean Jasper actually comes from multiple occurrences in the same region. The first material reached the market from the coastal area near Marovato, where several separate veins have been discovered. Some were small and worked only briefly before being exhausted.
Later, a second inland occurrence was found near Kabamby, about 10 miles away. This material shows different structure and pattern development, adding even more variation to Ocean Jasper.
🌊 The “orbs” aren’t surface patterns - they’re cross-sections of three-dimensional mineral spheres formed slowly over time, recording subtle shifts in chemistry and conditions during growth.
Despite the name, Ocean Jasper is generally classified as an orbicular chalcedony rather than a true jasper - trade names don’t always match geology.
What we love most about it is the diversity within a single stone type. No two pieces are ever the same, even within the same pocket.
✨ Metaphysically, Ocean Jasper is often associated with joy, grounding, emotional balance, and renewal - something we personally love it for, as it’s thought to encourage calm, patience, and steady emotional flow.
This is just a snapshot of that variation - different moments in the same geological story, preserved in stone, showcasing the range, character, and natural beauty Ocean Jasper is known for through all of these new arrivals.
📍 We’re open today from 10 AM to 2 PM - you gotta come by and see them in person!
