A big thank you to descreened from Wylie High School for spreading joy to our youngest patients! Recently, this student-led initiative donated goodie bags filled with coloring books, toys, and other fun surprises for children visiting HSNT. Not only are they making a positive impact through service, but they're also encouraging healthier habits by promoting activities that help lower screen time for youth.

We love seeing young leaders invest in their communities while inspiring creativity and play beyond the screen.

For 250 years, the United States has been shaped by generations of people who have cared for their families, served their communities, overcome challenges, and looked toward a brighter future.

That same spirit inspires our work every day at Health Services of North Texas. We believe healthy communities are built when every person has the opportunity to receive compassionate, quality care close to home.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to learn more about HSNT and the services available to local families. We loved connecting with community members, answering questions, and sharing resources that help make healthcare more accessible.

Watch an episode of their favorite cartoon where the characters visit the doctor before their appointment! Seeing familiar characters go through a check-up can help make the experience feel more comfortable, predictable, and less intimidating. 💜

As parents and caregivers, it’s important to stay aware of dangerous social media trends that may impact our children’s health and safety.

Recently, Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth warned families about a resurgence of the so-called “Benadryl Challenge,” a harmful trend encouraging teens to misuse allergy medication in dangerous amounts. In the past six months alone, Cook Children’s reported more than 100 overdose-related ER visits and one death connected to Benadryl misuse.

Because Benadryl is an over-the-counter medication, it can seem harmless, but taking too much can lead to serious health complications including seizures, heart problems, hallucinations, breathing difficulties, and even death.

A few reminders for families:
💜 Store medications safely and out of reach
💚 Talk openly with children and teens about online trends
💜 Follow medication dosing instructions carefully
💚 Seek immediate medical help if you suspect an overdose
