Charles “Evan” Rogers, 31, a resident of Helena, departed this life, Sunday, July 26, 2026, in Little Rock. He was born, September 3, 1994, in Helena, the son of Andy Joe Rogers and Carrie Faryna Haggins.
Evan was bright, cheerful, and outgoing. He loved talking with anyone and was known for knowing a little about everything—often happily sharing and explaining it to anyone willing to listen. He enjoyed fishing, riding dirt bikes and 4-wheelers, working on audio systems, and spending time with friends. His greatest joy was drawing; he would draw on anything, even bricks, and he was very talented. His family and friends will deeply miss his smile and laughter.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers: Sherry Davis and Darlene Rogers.
Survivors include his father and stepmother: Andy & Stephanie Rogers of Helena, mother: Carrie Haggins of Lexa, grandfathers: Jimmy Rogers of Wynne, Jerry Hagins, Sr of Lexa, one brother: Ethan Rogers and Ashley Liston of Helena, four sisters: Haleigh Rogers and Aiden of Batesville, Andrea Rogers, Shelby Rogers, Emily Evans all of Helena, one niece: Layla Chisim, one nephew: Easton Jones and a host of other family members and friends.

Charles “Wayne” Head, 72, a resident of Trumann, departed this life, Friday, July 10, 2026, at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. He was born June 24, 1954, in Wynne, the son of Charles Edward and Bonnie Jean Evans Head.
Wayne worked as a semi-truck driver, hauling grain and other goods, and also farmed for a time. He enjoyed piddlin’ around outside his home and working in the yard. Outgoing, funny, and hardworking, he was a good man whose greatest joy was his family. He loved Kathy dearly, cared for her well, and will be missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father: Charles Edward Head, mother; Bonnie Jean Sellers, one brother; Ronnie Head, and one sister; Debbie Martinez one grandson: Hayden Pittman.
Survivors include his wife; Kathy Fowler Head of Trumann, four daughters; Gena Andrews of Wynne, Christy Johnson of Little Rock, Erica Frymire of C**t, Jessica Hensley of Star city, two sisters; Patrica Stricklen and husband Randy of Wynne, Kathryn Head Hernandez of C**t, fourteen grandchildren, one great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Vickie Diane Guy, 71, a resident of C**t, departed this life, Saturday, July 4th, 2026, at her daughter’s home. She was born, December 1, 1954, in Overton, Texas, the daughter of Ralph Cornelius and Verna Elizabeth Tower Lanham.

Vickie was 1972 Graduate of Longview, Texas High School and a homemaker. She was an artist who enjoyed drawing, oil painting and gardening. Vickie was witty, funny and cared about others before herself. Her greatest joy in life was her family, she was always there for them all, but especially her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father: Ralph Lanham, her husband: Robert Lee Guy, two sons: Chad Fields, Craig Guy and one sister: Janice Lanham.

Survivors include her mother: Beth Lanham of Long View, Texas, one son: Tony Guy and his wife Terri of Jonesboro, two daughters: Lisa Comstock of Lepanto, Amy Huey and her husband Jeremy of C**t, two brothers: Ronnie Lanham and wife Michelle, Larry Lanham and wife Kellie both of Texas, twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held, Tuesday evening from 5 until 7:00 p.m. at the Earle Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, 10:00 am, at the Earle Baptist Church with burial following in Crittenden Memorial Park Cemetery in Marion.

Glenn Edwin Nicholson, 78, a resident of Cherry Valley, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, July 1 st, 2026, in Jonesboro. He was born May 16, 1948, in Forrest City, the son of Ray Booker Nicholson and Elizabeth Jane Penrose Nicholson. He married Miss Pauline Vaughn on April 14, 1972. He was a minister for many years at several Baptist churches, including Parkin Baptist, and was a missionary to Panama. Glenn was also a Disaster
Relief Chaplain, an Adjunct professor, and did prison ministry at the Forrest City Federal Prison. He received his minister’s license in 1969, a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from ASU in 1970, and his master’s degree from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, in May of 1974. He was ordained at the Cotter Baptist Church in June of 1974. He received his PhD in May of 2005 from Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky and then returned to ASU to earn his Bachelor of Science in Education in May of 2015.

Besides the constant need to educate himself, Glenn enjoyed reading, adding to his library, working on jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with his grandson, Andrew. He was introspective and stoic but compassionate and caring. To his family, he was strict but loving.

Glenn was preceded in death by his father, Ray Nicholson; mother, Elizabeth Nicholson King; two brothers, Dennis Nicholson and James Nicholson; and one son, Jonathan Andrew Nicholson.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years, Pauline Nicholson; one son, Nathan Nicholson of Cherry Valley; one daughter, Jennifer Smith and Michael McMaster of Wynne; only grandson,
Andrew Martinez, and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 7, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service starts 11:00 a.m. at the Cherry Valley Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Tyer Cemetery in Cherry Valley.

Jackie Sue Sanders, 69, a lifelong resident of Helena, departed this life, Friday, June 26, 2026, in Little Rock. She was born, June 23, 1957, in Helena, the daughter of Robert Jr and Alberta Eloise Jackson Sanders.
To her siblings her nickname was Fred, to her nieces and nephew she was Aunt Jack Jack. Jackie loved her nieces and nephew and then came along great nephews Ryce and River. She loved and was so proud of their careers and school accomplishments.
Jackie graduated from Marvel Academy in 1976. She began working in the Phillips County Assessor’s Office in 1999 and remained there until her retirement in 2018. After caring for her brother, she returned to work in the County Judge’s Office in October 2025, where she continued working until her passing.
Jackie enjoyed researching the history of Phillips County, watching Turner Classic Movies, attending estate sales, and spending time outdoors with her brother, JC. She loved going to the pond with him to fish, even though she did not like fish or hot weather. What mattered most to her was being with family, and she was always there when they gathered.
Estate sales were another favorite pastime. If there was one within 50 miles, Jackie was likely among the first to arrive. She was kind, caring, and good-hearted, with a deep love for her family, especially her nieces and nephew. If Jackie liked you, you had a loyal friend who would do anything in the world for you—and she could keep a secret better than anyone.
Jackie loved all of her siblings, but she and JC shared an especially close bond. When he passed away in September 2025, Jackie was never quite the same, and at the time the family did not know she was also ill. On Friday, June 26, at 2:15 a.m., she left this world. We take comfort in believing that she and JC are together again—no telling what those two are up to, but surely they are having fun.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents: Robert, Jr. and Alberta Sanders, two brothers: Robert A. “Bob” Sanders, and JC Sanders.
Survivors include her only sister: Melinda Bennett of Holly Grove, three nieces: Stacy Bennett, Tracy Bennett, Jennifer Cochran and only nephew: Shaun Bennett and his wife Katherine, two great nephews: Ryce & River and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will hold a graveside service on Saturday, July 11th at 10:00 a.m., in the Central Cemetery, Lexa, AR.

Michael Lloyd Sutherland, 49, a resident of Wynne, departed this life, Friday, May 29, 2026, at his home. He was born, February 8, 1977, the son of Garry Layne and Cynda Diane McCulley Sutherland.
Throughout his life, Michael worked a variety of jobs, including positions as a delivery driver for Pepsi and later UPS. Outside of work, he was an avid NASCAR fan who enjoyed fishing and spending time with friends. Known for his big personality and outgoing nature, Michael loved making people laugh with his sense of humor. Though many described him as a “big teddy bear,” those who knew him best appreciated his gentle, caring spirit. Above all, he loved his family—especially his daughters—and he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his parents: Garry and Cynda Sutherland of Wynne, three daughters: Macey Sutherland, Emily Sutherland and Aimeelyn Sutherland all of Jonesboro, two brothers: Layne Sutherland of Centerton, Jason Sutherland of Delaware, Oklahoma, one sister: Amber Peevey of Wynne and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will hold a memorial service on Sunday, June 21st, at 2:00 p.m. at the Three Trees Cowboy Church. Burial will be private in Crosslawn Cemetery.

Billy Joe Jones, 60, a resident of Wynne, departed this life, Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at his home. He was born, May 30, 1965, in Wynne, the son of Walter Wesley and Shirley Alexander Jones.
He earned two associate degrees and had a Journeyman' Electrician license, he worked at FedEx in Memphis. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
Billy is survived by his Mother: Shirley Jones of Parkin, wife: Jenny Jones of Wynne, two sons: Brett Jones and wife Louiza of Wynne, Tristan Jones of Vanndale, one brother: Kenneth Wayne Jones and wife Kim of Wynne, eight grandchildren: Draco Jones, Georgia Jones, Michael Freeman, Olivia Jones, Braxton Thornberry, Kayden Thornberry, Aubree Thornberry, and Easton Thornberry.

Cortez “Shorty” Marion Wilson, 79, departed this life, Sunday, April 19, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born, March 3, 1947, in Fair Oaks, the son of Hubert and Myrtle Agnes Stephens Wilson. He married Miss Young Cha Kang on March 31, 1980.
Shorty served in the U.S. Army for 20 years (1966–1986). Over the course of his career, he was stationed at posts throughout the United States and served overseas in Germany (two tours), Korea, and Italy. He loved fishing and hunting, and he treasured time with his family—especially his grandchildren. Cortez will be remembered for his kind heart, simple ways, and sense of humor; he was always ready with an old saying to share. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded by his parents: Hubert and Myrtle Wilson, two brothers: Bobby Wilson, and Johnny Wilson.
Survivors include his wife of forty-six years: Yong Wilson of the home, one son: Thomas Wilson and his wife April of Cherry Valley, one daughter: Marci Wilson of Wynne, three brothers: James Wilson of Wynne, Kenneth Wilson of Wynne, Danny Joe Wilson of Bebee, one sister: Babara Wilson of Wynne, five grandchildren: Zoe Boger, Maddox Boger, Hayden Wilson, Hayleigh Wilson and Whitley Wilson and a host of other relatives and friends.
