Michael Lloyd Sutherland, 49, a resident of Wynne, departed this life, Friday, May 29, 2026, at his home. He was born, February 8, 1977, the son of Garry Layne and Cynda Diane McCulley Sutherland.
Throughout his life, Michael worked a variety of jobs, including positions as a delivery driver for Pepsi and later UPS. Outside of work, he was an avid NASCAR fan who enjoyed fishing and spending time with friends. Known for his big personality and outgoing nature, Michael loved making people laugh with his sense of humor. Though many described him as a “big teddy bear,” those who knew him best appreciated his gentle, caring spirit. Above all, he loved his family—especially his daughters—and he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his parents: Garry and Cynda Sutherland of Wynne, three daughters: Macey Sutherland, Emily Sutherland and Aimeelyn Sutherland all of Jonesboro, two brothers: Layne Sutherland of Centerton, Jason Sutherland of Delaware, Oklahoma, one sister: Amber Peevey of Wynne and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will hold a memorial service on Sunday, June 21st, at 2:00 p.m. at the Three Trees Cowboy Church. Burial will be private in Crosslawn Cemetery.

Billy Joe Jones, 60, a resident of Wynne, departed this life, Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at his home. He was born, May 30, 1965, in Wynne, the son of Walter Wesley and Shirley Alexander Jones.
He earned two associate degrees and had a Journeyman' Electrician license, he worked at FedEx in Memphis. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
Billy is survived by his Mother: Shirley Jones of Parkin, wife: Jenny Jones of Wynne, two sons: Brett Jones and wife Louiza of Wynne, Tristan Jones of Vanndale, one brother: Kenneth Wayne Jones and wife Kim of Wynne, eight grandchildren: Draco Jones, Georgia Jones, Michael Freeman, Olivia Jones, Braxton Thornberry, Kayden Thornberry, Aubree Thornberry, and Easton Thornberry.

Cortez “Shorty” Marion Wilson, 79, departed this life, Sunday, April 19, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born, March 3, 1947, in Fair Oaks, the son of Hubert and Myrtle Agnes Stephens Wilson. He married Miss Young Cha Kang on March 31, 1980.
Shorty served in the U.S. Army for 20 years (1966–1986). Over the course of his career, he was stationed at posts throughout the United States and served overseas in Germany (two tours), Korea, and Italy. He loved fishing and hunting, and he treasured time with his family—especially his grandchildren. Cortez will be remembered for his kind heart, simple ways, and sense of humor; he was always ready with an old saying to share. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded by his parents: Hubert and Myrtle Wilson, two brothers: Bobby Wilson, and Johnny Wilson.

Charles Ronald Finlay, 82, a resident of Cherry Valley, departed this life, Wednesday, April 8, 2026, in Jonesboro. He was born, August 11, 1943, in Christchurch, New Zealand, the son of Ronald Gerald and Mabel Margaret Bennett Finlay. He married Cheryl Anne Martin on April 9, 2002.
Charles dedicated twenty-five years of his life to serving in the New Zealand Army. Over the course of his career, he participated in three separate wars and notably served alongside United States troops during the Vietnam War. His commitment to his country and to international cooperation was evident throughout his military tenure. After his military service, Charles continued to be active in his community. He was a former member of the Scottish Rites and served as a Mason at Lodge 129 in Jonesboro. His involvement in these organizations reflects his dedication to service and brotherhood. Upon relocating to the United States, Charles worked as a manager for several janitorial service companies. His leadership and organizational skills made him a valuable asset in his field for many years. Charles had a lifelong passion for sports. He played field hockey during his high school years and assisted on the fields after graduation. Even after moving to the United States, he continued to enjoy watching field hockey matches, as well as soccer and rugby. Beyond sports, Charles found joy in listening to classical music, watching musicals, flower gardening, and deep-sea fishing. These interests brought him happiness and enriched his life. Charles was known for his remarkable organizational skills. He was strong, funny, loving, and had a unique ability to make his presence felt wherever he went. His warmth and humor endeared him to those around him, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Loretta Ann Hallman, 60, a resident of Brookland, departed this life unexpectantly Thursday, April 2, 2026, at NEA hospital in Jonesboro. She was born, August 13, 1965 in Greenfield, Indiana, the daughter of Norman and Joyce Ann Davis Immel.
She was a graduate of Wynne High School and received her Associate Degree in computer technology from EACC. Loretta enjoyed talking to people, reading, playing board and card games and having fun. She always found the best in everyone and would help anyone in need. She always shared the things that brought her joy, but her greatest joy was her family especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father: Norman Immel, mother: Joyce Smith, one daughter: Jennifer Hallman, two brothers: Ronnie and Ricky Immel.
Survivors include two sons: Kevin Immel of Wynne, Bradley Hallman of Forrest City, one daughter: Wendy Hinkle and her husband Josh of Bono, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mary Arrena Spivey, 81, a resident of Forrest City, departed this life, Saturday, April 4, 2026, in Wynne. She was born, November 17, 1944, in C**t, Arkansas, the daughter of Virgil Grant Brown and Mary Olive Gunter Brown. She married Mr. Robert Michael Spivey, Sr. on November 27, 1963.

Mary graduated from Forrest City High School in 1962. Following her graduation, she began her career as a secretary, working for several companies over the years. Among her employers was Mary Arrena Spivey, 81, a resident of Forrest City, departed this life, Saturday, April 4, 2026, in Wynne. She was born, November 17, 1944, in C**t, Arkansas, the daughter of Virgil Grant Brown and
Mary Olive Gunter Brown. She married Mr. Robert Michael Spivey, Sr. on November 27, 1963.
Mary graduated from Forrest City High School in 1962. Following her graduation, she began her career as a secretary, working for several companies over the years. Among her employers was McDonald/Douglas, where she dedicated a decade of service. Later, Mary joined her husband in their business, M & M Construction, where they specialized in hanging wallpaper and painting until their retirement. Mary was known for her exceptional organization, intelligence, and outgoing personality. She was friendly, energetic, funny, and creative. Her hobbies included cross stitching, crafting, fishing, playing the piano, and collecting antiques. She also developed a strong interest in genealogy, conducting extensive research on both her own family and the Spivey family.
Above all, Mary treasured her family. She took great pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, considering them her most valued accomplishment.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents: Virgil and Mary Brown, her husband: Robert in Feb of this year, one brother: William Brown, two sisters: Jackie Beshears, Lillie Jane Latham and one great-grandchild: Aven Gray Butler.
Survivors include: one son: Robert Spivey, Jr. and his wife Carla of Independence, Mississippi, one daughter: Sherry Spivey of Forrest City, six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Naomi Fay Burnett,79, a resident of C**t, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at her home. She was born, June 29, 1946, in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of William Willie and Annie Bell Cox Lumley. She married Larry Buford Burnett, on December 9th, 1995.

Naomi was a devoted member of the former Faith Fellowship Church, where she found spiritual fulfillment and community. She dedicated more than twenty years of her career as a top stitcher at Addison Shoe Factory, demonstrating both skill and commitment in her work. Naomi was well known for her joyful and caring nature; she was often described as sweet yet undeniably feisty. Her interests included reading, enjoying television programs such as westerns and Law & Order, sewing, and cooking. Above all, she cherished every opportunity to spend time with her family, which brought her the greatest happiness.

Naomi was preceded in death by her parents: William and Annie Lumley, one daughter: Laura May Hicks, two brothers: Wayne and Stephen Lumley and two sisters: Elizabeth and Mary Jean Lumley.

Bill Lee Sissel-Hill, 61, a resident of Cherry Valley, went to be with his Lord, Sunday, March 15, 2026, at his home. He was born November 19, 1964, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of Geary Lynn and Nova Ann Gunkel Sissel.
Bill Lee Sissel-Hill graduated from Mannford High School in Oklahoma. Throughout his life, he worked diligently as both an electrician and a carpenter, dedicating many years to these professions. Bill was a devoted Christian who cherished his faith, consistently engaging in daily prayers and striving to live each day to its fullest. Known for his unique personality and unwavering work ethic, Bill always made sure to provide for his loved ones. Upon retirement, he shifted his focus entirely to his family, spending treasured moments together. Bill found joy in fishing, woodburning, making jewelry, and pursuing various other crafts that allowed him to use his hands creatively. His presence and the warmth he brought to those around him will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father: Geary Sissel, mother: Nova Hill, stepfather: Rex Hill, and one brother: Bobby Sissel-Hill.
