But what if God has already given the instruction?
What if the only permission still needed is your own?

Honestly, I thought this was going to be a funny little AI sketch.

Instead, it felt like a mirror.

A collection of the different versions of me—the therapist, the speaker, the advocate, the podcaster, the man of faith, the friend, the leader. The person people see on stages and social media, and the person still doing the work behind the scenes.
💡
What stood out to me most is that none of these versions exist without the people I’ve had the privilege to serve, learn from, and grow alongside.
💡
Every conversation.
Every setback.
Every prayer.
Every breakthrough.
💡
They all helped shape the person I’m becoming.
💡
I’m grateful for the journey, proud of the growth, and excited about what’s still ahead.

The work continues. The healing continues. The purpose continues.

And for that, I’m thankful.

The barbershop has always been more than a place for a cut. It’s where stories live. It’s where masculinity gets shaped, where culture is passed down, where laughter happens, where silence happens too. 👀

But what happens when parts of who you are feel welcomed in the room... and other parts of who you are don’t?
On June 12th, we’re creating space for an honest conversation around identity, culture, healing, belonging, and the meaning of the barbershop experience through a Black gay lens.
No performances.
No masks.
No pretending.
Just real dialogue.
