Joan M. Gritzen

Joan Marie (Ostrowski) Gritzen, 73, of Wyoming passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026 in Birchwood Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, Nanticoke, PA.

She was born June 13, 1953 in Pittston, daughter of the late Cas and Marion (Loyd) Ostrowski.

Joan grew up in West Wyoming and graduated high school in Stanford, CT in 1972, from Mother of God Academy.

She returned to Pennsylvania in 1973, to her roots, only to find Ben D. Gritzen, the love of her life. They got engaged in December of 73, and married in 79. Joan worked numerous jobs including, Dunkin Donuts and a dress warehouse in Kingston for a short time. She also worked as a dietary aide in Wesley Village for 22 years and because of her love of children, worked at several daycare centers for a few years. Her last job before retirement was at K-Mart of Pittston as a register operator. Joan was a member of the Christian Mother's Society at St. Joseph's -St Monicas Church, a CCD instructor at St. Joseph's, and also a member of both the West Wyoming and the Wyoming Hose Co. No. 1.

In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her brother, Martin Ostrowski in 1995, and sister Patricia Ostrowski DiVasto.

Joan is survived by her beloved husband, Ben Gritzen, brother, Michael Ostrowski (Mindy) of Cape Cod, MA; sister, Rose McKenzie of New Haven, CT, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, in-laws and friends.

A Blessing Service will be held on Friday, July 31 at St. Monicas Church, 363 W. 8th St., Wyoming, at 10 AM.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 9 AM until the time of the service at St. Monicas on Friday, July 31, 2026.

William R. Morgan

William Robert Morgan, 71, of Dallas, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, ,July 20, 2026, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp., PA.

William was born in Kingston, PA to the late Arthur R. and Jennie Vopleus Morgan. He worked for various companies installing and servicing heating and air conditioning systems.

William is survived by his brother, Richard Morgan of Mount Joy, PA.

Services for William are entrusted to Nulton Kopcza Funeral Home, 5749 SR 309, Monroe Twp., and will be held at the convenience of the family.

Joan F. Robbins

Joan F. Keska Robbins 93, of Wyoming, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, July 6, 2026, at her home.

Joan was born in Avoca to the late John and Mary Guzik Keska.

She attended Avoca School and went on to become a caretaker for St. Cecilia’s Church until 1987.

In addition to her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald, and their son, Robert Robbins.

Joan is survived by her children, Donald Robbins of Wyoming and Deborah (Mark) Ostrofsky of Haines City, FL, daughter-in-love Aida Robbins of Wyoming and grandchildren, Jennifer Clarke, Miguel DeLaCruz, Danielle Heeke, Karen Romero, Robin Heller, Cynthia Harris and Bridget Robbins. She also leaves behind her grand joy of 14 great-grandchildren.

Joan came from a large family and then created her own. Her family was her favorite part of life. She kept every picture her family gave her and surrounded herself with them. Joan lived in good spirits and told the most fascinating stories. She was full of life and a devout Catholic. Her family will miss her deeply and know that she’s in Heaven with the Lord Jesus Christ.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 10, 2026, 1:00, at St. Anthony's Church of Corpus Christi Parish, 224 Memorial Street, Exeter.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday from 12:00 the time of mass at the church.

Interment will follow at St Cecilias Cemetery, Exeter at a later date.

Helen Taddei

Helen Taddei, 99, of Wyoming, Pennsylvania, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2026, in Wesley Village, Pittston.

Helen was born in Luzerne, PA, to the late Anna Podolski-Redmerski-Stelacone and Adam Redmerski.

In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Taddei, siblings, Benjamin Redmerski, Tilly Makowski, Thomas Redmerski, Alex Redmerski, and Adam Redmerski.

Helen is survived by her children, Pam Slavinski (William) of W. Wyoming, and Wayne Taddei of Edwardsville, siblings, Anthony Stelacone, Bernard Stelacone, and Phyllis Grebeck, grandchildren, Brian (Jen) Slavinski, Shannon (Justin) Moore, Brandon (Natalie) Slavinski, great-grandchildren, Paige and Trevor Slavinski, Maddox, Brennan, Gavin, and Payton Moore, and Isla and Rowan Slavinski. Also, numerous nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service for Helen will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, 11AM at Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home, Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Rosemarie Navarouski

Rosemarie Navarouski, 77, of Pittston, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in Allied Services Wilkes-Barre Hospice Center.

Rosemarie was born in Plymouth, PA, to the late John and Isabelle Goravitch Larko.

She was a member of the Lithuanian Club in Inkerman and the Dupont Polish Club. She found joy listening to country music and loved pizza and icecream. Her favorite color was purple.

In addition to her parents Rosemarie is preceded in death by her beloved husband William Vincent Navarouski, and brother Richard Larko.

Rosemarie is survived by her children, Michelle Meier of Pittston; and Maria Navarouski of Plains; sister, Peggy Fox of Luzerne; and grandchildren, Kaitlyn Travis, Jeremy Blaine, and Katharina Navarouski.

The Funeral service for Rosemarie Navarouski will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026,11 AM at Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home, Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Jacqueline Ventiere

Jacqueline Ann Haubold Ventiere of Long Island, New York passed away on June 14, 2026 in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.

Born on October 30, 1945 in Brooklyn New York, Jacque was the daughter of George Haubold and Loretta Thompson.

She graduated Lindenhurst High School Class of 1963 and went on to attend Saint Catherine's School of Nursing in Brooklyn, New York. She received a license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse from the University of the State of New York in 1966.

Jacque worked as a nurse for over fifty years before reluctantly retiring in 2021. Outside of work she loved to travel, read, and spend time with her children, grandchildren and friends. She quickly became bingo champion and crowd favorite at the assisted living facility she had recently moved to to be closer to family.

She was predeceased by her parents and brother, George Haubold, Jr. She is survived by her children Michael Monastero (Dina), Kellyanne Tirva (Joseph), Mathew Monastero, Jeffrey Monastero (Jessica) and Michael Ventiere. And her grandchildren Rebecca (Michael Sugarman) and Sarah Monastero, Abigail Tirva, Shane and Jenna Monastero, and Lily and Logan Monastero.

Diagnosed with metastatic cancer in 2019, she was determined not to let it beat her. In the end it was not the cancer that beat her, it was she that beat the cancer.

A wake will be held at Raynor & D'Andrea Funeral Home 245 Main St. West Saville, NY on Thursday June 18, 2026. Viewings will be from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 7:00PM-9:00PM. A short service will be held during the later viewing.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made to The American Lung Association in Jacqueline's memory.

William F. Givens, Jr.

William F. Givens, Jr., 89, of Wyoming, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026, at his home.

He was born in Kingston, PA, to the late William and Blanche Eshelman Givens.

William graduated from Wyoming high school in 1954 and went on to serve our country in the US Navy. He eventually became an FAA Tower Manager with his last stop being Avoca Airport Tower Chief Manager. William was a former president of the West Pittston Lions Club, and NRA-Life Member and Endowment Member. He was an avid sportsman and loved hunting and golfing.

In addition to his parents, William is predeceased by his beloved wife Shirley Salus (2008) 50 years which took care of her illness, his daughter, Bennye Givens, and brothers, Richard and George Givens.

William is survived by his children, Alice (John) Banaszek of Orrtanna, Barbara (John) Pack of Elkview, WV, William (Shanna Killian) Givens of Wyoming, sister, Marilyn (Matt) Ross, grandchildren, Erika, Cole, John, Luke, Josh, Dominick, Carmen, Catalina, Caden and great-grandchildren, John, Reese, Zaden and Max. His family along with his Yellow Lab, Wilson were always his first priority and never forgot to send birthday or anniversary cards to all family members. He will be deeply missed.

The Funeral Service for William will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 12:00 PM at Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home, Inc. 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Lori A Thomas

Lori A. (Murphy) Thomas 59, of Noxen, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, surrounded by family at Geisinger CMC, Scranton.

Lori was born in Wilkes-Barre, to the late William and Jean Kasson Murphy.

She graduated in 1985 from West Side Tech. She went on to work for Native Textiles, Libby's Home Cooking and Sunflower Sprouts, but her greatest job of all was being a devoted mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Lori is preceded in death by her siblings, Billy Murphy, Roberta Budzack, Hugh Murphy, Shawn Murphy, and David McClintock.

Lori is survived by her beloved husband Kenneth, children, Tara Murphy, of Sweet Valley; Chelsea (Michael) Banos of Mehoopany; Courtney (Carlos) Aponte, of Noxen; Tanner (Tara) Thomas of Noxen; siblings, Randy (Julie) Murphy of Noxen; Amber Murphy, of Noxen, Shannon (Rich) Pates of Beaver Dam, VA; grandchildren, Lexi and Lila Doughton, and Jolene Banos, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service for Lori will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Nulton Kopcza Funeral Home, 5749 SR 309, Monroe Twp.

Darcelle S. (Hooke) Bradby

Darcelle S. (Hooke) Bradby, 48, of Monroe Township, Pennsylvania, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia after a four-year battle with cancer. In her final moments, she was lovingly surrounded by her family.

Darcelle—known to many as Darcy—was born in Milford, Connecticut, to David Hooke and Kathleen Hooke O'Connell. A graduate of Foran High School, she earned her Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) degree from Lincoln Technical Institute in Shelton, CT. Darcy worked per diem at several nursing and rehabilitation facilities throughout the area, caring for others with compassion and professionalism.

Since her diagnosis, Darcy lived by the motto YOLO and embraced life fully. A lifelong New Kids on the Block fan, she made many dear friends while traveling solo on the NKOTB cruise. She loved concerts, comedy shows, and family day trips, and she delighted in sharing her children's love of Disney and Mickey Mouse. An avid bargain hunter who enjoyed making deals, Darcy also took pride in keeping her family stylish. She was known for her curly red hair, infectious smile, and quick sense of humor—beautiful inside and out.

Darcelle was preceded in death by her stepfather, Donald O'Connell. She is survived by her husband, Kyle; her children, Breon (10) and Kylah (6); her parents, David Hooke and Kathleen Hooke O'Connell; her siblings, David (Sarah) Hooke Jr. of West Wyoming, PA, Derek (Brooke) Hooke of Monroe Township, PA, and Dawn (James) Klinczar of Cincinnati, OH; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation will be held Monday, May 11, 2026, at Nulton Kopcza Funeral Home, 5749 SR 309, Monroe Township, PA, from 4:00 PM until the time of the service. Funeral service will begin at 6:00 PM.

David F. Dempkosky

David Francis Dempkosky, 68, of Los Angeles, California, formerly of Wyoming, Pennsylvania, passed away suddenly at his home on April 2, 2026.

Born on August 15, 1957, in Pennsylvania, he was the son of Marilyn Dempkosky and the late Francis Dempkosky. He was a graduate of Wyoming Area High School, Class of 1975 and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Wilkes University in 1979.

David dedicated 25 years of his professional life to government contract finance, where he built a respected career before retiring. Following his retirement, he embraced the opportunity to enjoy life more fully, spending his time traveling and attending Penn State football games-proudly cheering on his team, "WE ARE!!!"

He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Charles Dempkosky, and his sister, Leslie Ann Dempkosky.

David is survived by his mother, Marilyn Dempkosky; his sister, Carol Jones; his nephew, Zachary Jones, his niece, Elizabeth Sperrazza and her husband Leo Sperrazza. along with their two daughters, Liliana and Olivia Sperrazza; and various different aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Shout out to his little feline friend Belle.

He will be remembered for his dedication to his career, his love of family, and his passion for Penn State football. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

As per David's wishes, a celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
