What a great time in Harrisonburg at Eastern Mennonite University!

This FREE training filled up fast. People from across the region came to learn, share, and connect.

During the training, participants earned their LUV Leader and CHATS Facilitator certificates. They learned about ACEs (adverse childhood experiences) and PCEs (positive childhood experiences), practiced listening, asked questions, and shared ideas.

Now, 16 more people are ready to help build stronger communities.

Want to join us? Our next FREE training is August 19–21 in Danville. Anyone can sign up, but spots are filling fast. Register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1991468814834?aff=oddtdtcreator

Thank you to our trainer, Ginny, for leading the training and helping make it a great experience for everyone!

Congratulations to Tracy Robinson, our "GRIT Award" winner for June! Tracy is director of our Regional Geriatric Team which manages 88 beds. Tracy and her team have brought more than 300 people out of state hospitals and placed them in nursing homes or their own homes. “They’re more comfortable, happier, more stable – what a difference she has made for those who are aging in our state,” said CEO Sandy Bryant.

Tracy’s team is the first in Virginia to develop this type of geriatrics program. “I have a wonderful team,” she said. “We have moved mountains with this team. It’s been really wonderful to see us grow and see us expand and see us make all the partnerships in the community that we have.”

Great job, Tracy! Thank you for all you do!

Mount Rogers staff recently learned how our brains and behaviors are affected by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE). Through the training, our staff learned how best to support our clients and community members. The staff who received the training support clients in our intellectual and developmentally disabled group homes.
Thank you to Mount Rogers' Marlena Rabago Thompson for leading the workshop! The training is also available at no cost at your facility to community groups.

We had a beautiful day at Withers Park for Senior Appreciation Day!

The Mount Rogers team had fun meeting seniors, sharing information, and giving away helpful items. This year, we gave away 125 medication lock boxes for free! These boxes help people keep their medicine safe.

Locking up medicine and keeping it away from children, pets, and others can help stop accidents and keep people safe.

Thank you to all who helped make this a great event. We had a lot of fun and can’t wait for next year!
