🤍In Loving Memory of James “Jim” Gilreath🤍

At Holston, those entrusted to our care become more than residents; they become part of our family. Today, we remember and celebrate the life of a truly special member of that family, Mr. James “Jim” Gilreath.

We feel incredibly blessed that Jim’s journey brought him to Holston and allowed us the privilege of knowing and caring for him. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he gave us will remain part of our Holston family forever.

We hold his beloved wife of 66 years, Jean, and their daughter, Marcia, especially close in our hearts and are praying that all who loved Jim find comfort in knowing that this goodbye is not the end.

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4

Rest peacefully, Mr. Gilreath. You will always be remembered with love at Holston.

We absolutely had a wonderful time yesterday, talking like swashbuckling pirates and dressing up in our finest buccaneer gear for the exciting third day of National Senior Living Week! Our spirits were truly lifted when the lovely Candice Draper from ACG Hospice stopped by to visit us and share her hidden treasures. She kindly treated our residents to a delicious spread of mouthwatering brownies and cookies! Everyone was so thrilled to get their hands on such sweet bounty! A few of our residents even decided to show off their adventurous sides with fun pirate tattoos—don't worry, they wash off! 😆 A huge thank you to Candice and ACG Hospice for joining our festive celebration! 🏴‍☠️🍪🦜

We enjoyed a truly wonderful and "Groovy" Tuesday spent alongside our dedicated partners from Gentiva Hospice. We were so pleased to welcome Cambria, who thoughtfully provided a delicious variety of breakfast treats for all of our residents to enjoy. Everyone truly appreciated the kind gesture that helped sweeten our morning. Later in the day, Brittany from Wytheville Hospice joined our community. She shares a genuine passion for bingo, and she brought along several fun, "Groovy" treats for the games. We are incredibly grateful to our hospice partners for bringing such immense joy and bright smiles to our residents during National Senior Living Week.

Assisted Living Week is off to a sweet start at Holston Senior Living! 🍌🍨💜

Our parlor was packed as residents gathered to build their perfect banana splits, enjoy plenty of delicious toppings, share some laughs, and even dance to a little Elvis! It was a wonderful afternoon filled with friendship, music, and plenty of sweet memories.

A heartfelt thank-you to Ashley & Dakota with Access Home Health Care for hosting today’s Rock n Roll Sock Hop and helping us begin this special week with so much fun. Some of life’s greatest gifts come to us through our grandparents. 💜

They are the keepers of family stories, the voices of wisdom, the hands that comfort us and the hearts that seem to have an endless supply of love.

Whether we are blessed to still hold their hands or carry their love with us in our hearts, the lessons they taught us and the memories they gave us remain part of who we are.

Today, we celebrate the grandparents within our Holston family and everywhere; the ones who have loved us, guided us, made us laugh and helped shape generations.
