There is a lumbar pad that is advertised as the cure for sciatica that uses traction, heat and electrical stimulation. Their information on what causes sciatica is not altogether correct. Spinal compression CAN cause sciatica, but vertebral misalignment, hip rotation & sacroiliac misalignment can also be a cause. Traction will help if it is only vertebral misalignment or compressed discs. I do NOT want my patients using heat on any lower back pain. Too much heat can pe*****te through the muscles and cause swelling of the sciatic nerve. That creates more pain. It is also very doubtful that this device will help spinal stenosis. I am a Chiropractor, and have been in practice for 50 years.

Many are suffering from sinus issues. The weather has been so unpredictable plus the wind has definitely been overwhelming. Windy conditions will stir up pollen a@nd pollutants, such as molds & bacteria. Many are having issues with coughing and mucus. Drying out the mucus seems to be helpful. Watch dairy intake to reduce the mucus production. If coughing is excessive, prop yourself up at night. This helps to minimize coughing & keeps the luns from filling up. Also helps keep the airflow open. If the mucus is discolored, you might need to find out if it is a virus or bacterial infection, or both.

Now that I am into the 50th year, I plan on continuing for as long as the good Lord let's my health endure. Healing is much slower these days, but the knowledge I have been given still serves me and my patients well. Never too old to learn new things, for learning keeps me feeling young at heart.

It has finally happened. Tomorrow will be my 50th anniversary in practice. February 2, 1976 began a journey that I still do enjoy helping people who are struggling to be healthy. As long as I can do the job, I will keep serving those in need. Thanks to all who have been patients and kept me going through these many years!

Influenza A is definitely amoung us. The flu shot does not contain this virus, thus making it questionable to take the stab. Just an FYI...

Time for preparation for flu season. Take Flax Seed oil daily as a preventive; 2000 mg a day. If you start feeling nauseous, headache, ache all over and fever, start taking 4000 mg every 3-4 hours. Ad zinc, 50 mg, vitamin D, 5000 iu, & Andrographis, 300 mg. Take all these each meal. Other supplements that can help are elderberry, cat's claws, oregano, My Community, vitamin C just to name a few. When taking these last mentioned, Take 2 from this group and stagger them every other meal. This stops the virus from mutating. Take until all symptoms are clear. Avoid dairy if you have congestion.
