Congratulations to our adult division champion Andy Nguyen from this weekend at the Hometown Showdown presented by Italstone-US Marble & Granite at Hometown Ace Hardware

Andy showed up as he always does, chasing gold in 2026 just like he did last year on the winning team of the World Live Fire Championships.

We were proud to have him show up in the PNW, and we can't wait to see what he accomplishes this year on the world's stage in Indy at the World Food Championships

Congratulations again to 11 year old Henrik Hanchett from Yakima, who won our junior division this weekend at the Hometown Showdown!

At 11 years old, Henrik has only been cooking for 1 MONTH!! His parents said that he has been working non-stop, and is incredibly excited to pursue this new passion for cooking. We can't wait to see what he is able to accomplish at the 2026 World Food Championships in Indianapolis!

Let's continue to cheer him on and support him in his exciting new adventure!

Equal parts comfort food menace and backyard fire wizard, Cheesecurd built his reputation one crispy bite at a time — blending bold flavors, unapologetic indulgence, and the kind of cooking that makes judges like Gordon Ramsay question their emotional stability.

This weekend we hit the streets of Sunnyside for one of the biggest Cinco de Mayo celebrations in Washington… and went all in on a taco crawl that left us... crawling back to our cars! Happily full and in need of a siesta ;)

Incredible food. New flavors we’d never experienced before. And most of all—a deeper respect for the culture, tradition, and community that make the Yakima Valley such a special place to live and eat.

If you haven’t already, get out and taste the Valley this Cinco de Mayo. We’re better, stronger, and richer because of our hermanos de México 🇲🇽🔥

The Pacific Northwest Food Championships and Hometown Showdown at Hometown Ace Hardware presented by Ital Stone welcomes The Capitol Theatre's Charlie Robin as part of our esteemed judges panel. As someone who knows what it means to entertain the Yakima Valley and beyond, Charlie will be looking for incredible flavors - something he understands well - but also really keeping an eye out for incredible presentations!
