June Service Project: The Rainbow Room
This June, Seva is proud to support the PP Keystone Rainbow Room as our monthly service project. A portion of all sales throughout the month will be donated directly to this incredible program.

The Rainbow Room is a free, welcoming, and affirming weekly program for LGBTQ+ youth ages 14 to 21 in Doylestown, PA. The program has been meeting since 2002 and is a place where young people can show up exactly as they are. No judgment. No pressure.

The program is led by trauma-informed, award-winning sexuality education professionals, and covers topics ranging from sexuality education and advocacy to crafts, film showings, and guest speakers. Youth help shape the program themselves.

Pride Day Donation Classes · Tuesday, June 2nd

We're also offering two donation-based classes on June 2nd in honor of Yardley's Pride celebration. 100% of proceeds from both classes go straight to the Rainbow Room, on top of our standard monthly donation.

6:30 am — All Levels Yoga with Lucas

8:00 am — Qigong with Debra Jackson

Every class you take at Seva this June is a contribution. Come practice, support community, and help keep a safe space open for the young people who need it most.

Tai Yoga: Five Animal Qigong
12pm June 16th, 23rd, and 30th

Explore the ancient wisdom of Wudang Five Animal Qigong through a yoga-infused lens in this one-of-a-kind class that blends the best of both traditions. Drawing on the five animals (Dragon, Tiger, Leopard, Snake, and Crane) each corresponding to an element, an emotion, and specific organs of the body, this practice traces a path of internal transformation from primordial essence to pure spirit, mirroring the Daoist journey of self-cultivation.

Through mindful movement and breath, students will work to open and strengthen the internal organs, improve circulation, and build flexibility, balance, coordination, and body awareness. Beyond the physical, this practice serves as a compass for emotional well-being. Bringing awareness to imbalances held in the body and mind, and gently releasing feelings of anxiety, stress, and tension that accumulate through the demands of daily life.

Whether you are new to qigong or deepening an existing practice, Tai Yoga offers accessible, meaningful tools for cultivating greater health, mental stability, and longevity. Come move, breathe, and find your balance.

Two Donation Classes on June 2nd to Kick Off Yardley's Pride Celebration

Start Pride Day on the mat
Yardley is celebrating Pride on June 2nd, and we want to set the tone. We're opening the morning with two pay-what-you-wish classes, and every dollar collected goes directly to the PP Keystone Rainbow Room, a free and affirming weekly program for LGBTQ+ youth in our community.

6:30 am · 60 min

All Levels Yoga with Lucas

A grounded, welcoming yoga class to begin the day. Open to everyone, whether you're stepping on the mat for the first time or returning to a longtime practice.

8:00 am · 60 min

Qigong with Debra Jackson

An ancient practice of gentle movement and breathwork that cultivates energy and calm from the inside out. Come as you are. No experience needed.

Pay what you wish. All proceeds go to the Rainbow Room.

The Rainbow Room has been a safe space for LGBTQ+ youth ages 14 to 21 in Bucks County since 2002. It's free to attend, run by PP Keystone, and built entirely on the idea that young people deserve a place where they can be exactly who they are. Your contribution helps keep it going.

Then head to Buttonwood Park.

The celebration continues at 6:00 pm with Yardley Borough's annual Pride event in Buttonwood Park, featuring guest speakers, local author storytime, and a Pride Crawl along Main Street. This year it's an Experience Yardley event, the team behind Music Off Main and Canal-O-Ween. It's going to be a full day worth showing up for.

In recognition of national holiday Memorial Day, and the limited access to the studio because of celebrations in the borough, Seva will be closed for morning and afternoon classes. Road closures for the Memorial Day parade prevent access by car to our studio. Yin yoga with Eileen Cary will run as scheduled, 6:30 PM.

The Middle Way

The Buddha spoke of the Middle Way, a path between extremes. Not overexertion, not withdrawal, but a steady, balanced approach.

As energy increases in late spring, it can be tempting to do more, push harder, move faster. But yoga asks something different. It asks for awareness within effort.

Notice where balance lives for you today.

Be well and do good work.

Motherhood is not one thing. It is a thousand quiet acts of love, offered in a thousand different ways. Today we celebrate the ones who show up, in whatever form that takes. The parent who gave birth, the one who chose, the mentor who stayed, the friend who became family. The neighbor, the teacher, the stranger who somehow always knew what you needed. If you have ever loved someone with that particular kind of fierce, steady care, this day belongs to you too.

We also want to make space for those for whom today feels heavier than it looks on paper. Grief, longing, complicated histories, fresh loss. You do not have to perform joy today. You are held here, exactly as you are.

Wishing you love in whatever form feels most like home. Happy Mother’s Day. 🌿

Compassion in Practice

In Buddhist teaching, compassion is not something we wait to feel, it is something we practice. It begins with small moments of care, offered again and again.

On the mat, this may look like softening your expectations. Listening instead of pushing. Allowing space where there was once tension.

What if compassion guided your practice this month?

Be kind. Be gentle. Be generous.

May Service Project: Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research

This May, we're taking our practice off the mat and into the world.
Seva is proud to support the Lustgarten Foundation, the largest private funder of pancreatic cancer research in the world. Since 1998, they've invested over $301 million in high-risk, high-reward research, pushing toward a future where pancreatic cancer is no longer a death sentence.

We all know someone touched by cancer. This month, your practice is an act of love and solidarity.

Here's how to give:
Take a class, a portion of all sales is donated
Drop a dollar (or more!) in our donation jar in the studio
Learn more at www.lustgarten.org

Together, we breathe, we move, we heal, and we fund the research that gives families more time.
