Hip pain? Stop digging around in there. 👀

When your hip hurts, it’s tempting to grab a massage gun, foam roller, lacrosse ball, or your elbow and really dig into the spot.

But more pressure doesn’t always mean better results.

If you’re repeatedly digging into a painful area, you may be irritating already sensitive tissues instead of addressing why the area hurts in the first place.

Hip pain can come from the muscles, tendons, joints, nerves, or even how your hip and pelvis are moving together.

Instead of constantly attacking the painful spot, the better question is:

“Why does this area hurt?”

Sometimes the solution is less about digging deeper and more about improving mobility, movement, strength, and how the surrounding tissues are working together.

Your hip doesn’t need a wrestling match. 😅
It needs the right approach.

Got hip pain that keeps coming back? Let’s figure out what’s actually driving it.

Wellness begins with small daily choices. 🌱

Your health isn’t built from one big decision. It’s shaped by the habits you repeat every day.

5 small choices that support your body’s ability to move, adapt, and thrive:

1️⃣ Move your body daily
Walking, stretching, strength training, or simply changing positions throughout the day helps keep your joints and muscles functioning at their best.

2️⃣ Prioritize your posture and movement habits
Your body adapts to the positions you spend the most time in. Be mindful of how you sit, stand, lift, and move.

3️⃣ Fuel your body with intention
The nutrients you provide your body help support energy, recovery, and overall function.

4️⃣ Give your nervous system time to reset
Quality sleep, deep breathing, and moments of relaxation help your body recover and regulate.

5️⃣ Be proactive with your health
Don’t wait until pain stops you from doing what you love. Regular check-ins, mobility work, and healthy habits can help you stay ahead.

Small choices create big changes over time. Your body is designed to function better when you give it the right support. 💪

🔥 That heating pad might feel amazing in the moment, but if it’s the only thing you’re relying on for pain relief, it could be keeping you stuck in the same cycle.

Heat can temporarily relax muscles and make you feel more comfortable, but it doesn’t address why the pain is there. In some cases, constantly applying heat to an already irritated or inflamed area may even prolong symptoms.

If you’ve been reaching for the heating pad every day for weeks or months, it may be time to change your approach.

Movement. Manual therapy. Strengthening. Mobility work. Recovery strategies. The right combination depends on what’s actually causing your pain.

Temporary relief is great, but lasting results come from treating the source, not just the symptoms.

If your heating pad has become part of your daily routine, let’s figure out what’s really going on and get you moving in the right direction. 💪

Brown Chiropractic had an incredible morning at the 61st Annual Yarmouth Clam Festival! We were proud to sponsor this amazing community event while offering free Trigger Point Massages and Shockwave Therapy trials to festival attendees.

It was a pleasure meeting so many members of our community and helping people find relief from pain, improve their mobility, and learn more about the treatment options available to them. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, asked questions, and let us be a small part of your day.

We love being part of the Yarmouth community and are already looking forward to next year’s festival!

And remember, we are just down the street from where this wonderful event takes place!

Your wallet might be causing your back pain. 👀

If you keep your wallet in your back pocket and sit on it every day, you’re putting your pelvis off balance. Even a small lift on one side can create uneven pressure through your hips, lower back, and spine.

Over time, this can contribute to:
• Low back pain
• Hip discomfort
• Sciatica-like symptoms
• Muscle tightness
• Poor posture

The fix is simple: Take your wallet out before you sit, especially if you spend hours driving or working at a desk.

Small habits can have a big impact on how your body feels. If you’ve been dealing with nagging back or hip pain, it may be time to look beyond the obvious.

Rolling your foot on a frozen water bottle might feel good for a few minutes, but it doesn’t fix plantar fasciitis.

Ice can temporarily reduce pain by calming irritated tissue, but it doesn’t address why your plantar fascia became overloaded in the first place.

The real problem is often higher up the chain:
• Limited ankle mobility
• Tight calves
• Weak foot muscles
• Poor hip strength
• Walking or running mechanics
• Repetitive overload

If you only treat the pain, the pain usually comes back.

Lasting relief comes from finding the source of the stress and correcting it, not just numbing the symptoms.

Stop chasing temporary relief and start fixing the root cause. Your feet will thank you.

Why is plantar fasciitis so difficult to treat?

Because the pain is in your foot, but the problem often isn’t.

Many people focus only on the painful spot by rolling it on a frozen water bottle, stretching the arch, or wearing different shoes. While those things may provide temporary relief, they don’t always address why the tissue became overloaded in the first place.

Plantar fasciitis is often connected to issues higher up the kinetic chain. Limited ankle mobility, weak foot muscles, poor calf strength, hip instability, and even changes in walking or running mechanics can all increase stress on the plantar fascia.

That’s why some people struggle with foot pain for months or even years. The foot is where the symptoms show up, but the root cause may be somewhere else entirely.

If you want lasting results, don’t just treat the pain. Find out what’s causing the stress on the tissue in the first place.

06/24/2026

Plantar fasciitis is often blamed on getting older, but age isn’t the real problem.

Your feet are the foundation of your body. When they lose strength, mobility, or the ability to absorb force properly, stress can build up in the plantar fascia and lead to pain.

Factors like poor foot mechanics, calf tightness, reduced ankle mobility, weak hips, training errors, and spending hours on hard surfaces can all contribute, regardless of your age.

The good news? Plantar fasciitis is usually a symptom of a bigger movement problem, not just something you have to live with.

Instead of only chasing temporary relief, address the root cause and get your body moving the way it was designed to.

Your feet may be where the pain is, but they aren’t always where the problem starts.
