Spotlight on Phoebe (STNA) 🫶🤩

Meet Phoebe, an incredible young STNA who brings pure heart to Friends Care Community! After doing her student clinicals on our campus, she actually cried because she missed our residents so much, so she joined our team full-time mid-school year. Phoebe has received rave reviews from our senior clinical staff, she is an awesome example of healthcare with HEART ❤️

Caregiving comes naturally to her. Phoebe’s deep empathy shines through a lifetime of helping care for her special-needs older brother.

We hit the jackpot with you, Phoebe! Thank you for everything you do. Keep shining! 🎉

🌳 High School Volunteers Needed! 🎹

Are you a parent of high school student aged 17+ looking to earn community service hours? Friends Care Community is looking for hard-working teens to help out around our campus!

We have opportunities for:

Maintenance & Gardening (Help us spruce up our Assisted Living back patio, tackle campus upkeep, and work on outdoor projects!)

Resident Assistance (Helping our independent living residents in & around their homes)

Musicians (Perform during meal times—we have a piano available!)

Get your community service hours signed off! 📝

Our residents had a great time yesterday putting their skills to the test with a friendly game of Twister Toss!

Residents competed for a chance to earn “resident dollars” to spend at our Resident Store, where they can choose from a variety of fun treats and prizes.

There was plenty of laughter, friendly competition, and excitement as everyone aimed for the winning spots. Congratulations to all of our players! We love creating opportunities for residents to stay active, socialize, and have fun together!

This week, our activities director, Kelli set up a fun shopping cart for our residents!
During our Vegas themed prom night & other activities our residents can win “cash” (aka pretend money). Well, they wanted a place to spend it!! So here we are, a fun cart filled with goodies so that they can shop from the comfort of their own space!
Care to donate some items for our cart?
Our residents are loving lotions, lip balms, and other personal products, crafts supplies like coloring books, room decor, Ohio sport themed items, or cozy socks!
(Just as some examples, if you feel moved to pickup items.)

Big hearts, great books, and lots of giggles! ❤️📚

This week, our residents took on a very important job: selecting and rating children’s books for Story Chain—an incredible fellow non-profit focused on children’s literacy, with a special emphasis on supporting children with incarcerated parents.

We read aloud, shared plenty of laughs, and now the books have been officially vetted by the experts! We are so grateful for the opportunity to give back. Thank you for visiting, Story Chain, we can’t wait for future collaborations! 🌟

Ps. On June 30th we will be hosting a similar activity with Story Chain with our assisted living residents!
