Even though he’s only with us for a short time, Interim Executive Director Sean Riley has already made an incredible impact across our campus! Dedicated to stewarding non-profit life-plan communities toward success and optimal operations, Sean brings leadership, heart, and a special assistant to work.

Pictured here is Sean alongside his right-paw man, Gentle Frank! Frank reported for duty today to keep a close eye on our local campus squirrels (rest assured, he’s keeping them in check 🐾🐿️).

We love being a pet-friendly community! Friendly, well-behaved pups are always welcome to visit loved ones here at Friends Care Community.

We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support of the Yellow Springs Community Foundation! From rapid-response funding for a brand-new refrigeration unit in our assisted living facility to helping us acquire our new resident transportation bus, YSCF has been right beside us as we continue building—brick by brick—toward our future goals.

Having this kind of grant support allows us to stay focused on our long-term growth—even when unexpected, urgent needs pop up along the way. And as we’ve been teasing, we are officially getting ready for the beginning stages of expanding our facilities!

Having a resource like YSCF right at our front door is truly amazing, and our village is so fortunate to have their dedicated leadership.

Staff Spotlight 💌 Julie Clements, RN.
Our Admissions Director for all areas of care and Wound Care Specialist!

Julie’s journey with Friends Care Community began back in 2018 when she took a second-shift floor nurse position just to get her foot in the door after hearing wonderful things about our community. Over the years, through earning her RN, navigating life and school as a mom of three boys, Julie kept coming back to the place that felt like home.

As Admissions Director, Julie gracefully balances an incredible amount on her plate. Whether she is coordinating complex admissions, advocating for our residents, or bringing her clinical expertise as a trusted nurse, she approaches every detail with deep compassion. Beyond her dedication to clinical excellence and resident care, Julie is constantly looking out for our organization and supporting our team in every way she can. She navigates the intense daily juggle of her role with genuine warmth and poise.

“It feels like home. It’s such a family-oriented, fun environment... it’s just a soft place to land.”

We are so grateful for Julie’s dedication, leadership, and enormous heart for our entire community. Thank you for everything you do, Julie! 💙

Staff Spotlight: Meet Bethany, Licensed Social Worker! 🌟

Bethany is genuinely one of the sweetest and most thoughtful people I’ve met. She cares deeply about her residents and their families, as well as her co-workers, and goes above and beyond for everyone. If you have had the pleasure of meeting her, you know it to be true.

Her heart for service runs deep—from teaching ESL classes and supporting refugee families in San Antonio right after college, to spending over a decade caring and advocating for seniors in Ohio.

“I’ve always had a heart for the elderly, starting with a really close relationship with my grandparents,” Bethany shares. “As soon as I walked in here, I knew it was different. The environment is friendly, family-like, and truly focused on giving back to our residents and increasing their quality of life.”

We are SO grateful for Bethany’s warmth, dedication, and the heart she brings to our campus every single day. Please join us in celebrating her in the comments below! 👇✨
