Brett Page Obituary
Mr. Brett William Page, of York, SC was born February 8, 1967 in Monroe County, Kentucky, a son of the late Billy and Berta Page. He attended York Comprehensive High School and worked as a welder and ironworker. He loved to fish and hunt, though he ironically did not like to eat fish. A true outdoorsman, he loved to have a good time and will be dearly missed.

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at his home, 2934 Hord Road, York, SC at 5:00 p.m.

Brett is survived by his children, Nikki Page, Joseph Page, Helena Page, and Courtney Page; and his siblings, Brian Page and Heidi Page Dismon.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, October 9, 2026 at New Home AME Zion Church with Rev. Andre Good eulogizing. Burial will follow at Uniondale Cemetery in York, SC.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm, Thursday, October 8, 2026 at the funeral home, and other times at the home, 24 Hunter Street, York, SC.

Mr. Lamar Keith Garvin, affectionately known as “Kiki,” passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center. He was born March 9, 1965, at Divine Savior Hospital, York, SC. He was the beloved son of Barbara Ann Garvin and the late James Glenn McNeal

Kiki attended York Comprehensive High School and later continued his education at Benedict College. After attending college, he entered the workforce, where he began building a life for himself. He was known for his sense of style and his love for playing basketball. Kiki enjoyed reading, dressing sharp, and always made sure he smelled good. He took pride in his appearance and had a style of his own that those who knew him will always remember. He later moved to Maryland, where he got married and became part of the Nation of Islam. Kiki had many plans in life and loved to give advice to others about things he had read and learned; he made sure that if you didn’t know, he would tell you.

Kiki was preceded in death by his father, James Glenn McNeal; his siblings, Jerry Ware and Tony McMeal; five aunts, three uncles, and nine cousins.

Kiki leaves to cherish loving memories his eight children: Nehemiah Markee C. Clark of Chicago, IL; Diamond Clark (Omar) Chisholm of Charlotte, NC; Najee Kariem Ali of Arizona; Khallid Ali of Florida; Sakinah (Jabril) Ali of Chicago, IL; Deven Delonte Brannon of Washington; Aalim Muhammad and Nyasia Muhammad of Maryland. His grandchildren, Elijah, Mateo, Sky, Nyla Brielle, Safa, and one soon to come. He also leaves to cherish his memory his siblings: Dean S. Garvin, Anna McNeal Todd, James McNeal Jr. of York, John McNeal, Billy Rainey, and Sandra Rainey all of Rock Hill, SC; Larry, Victor, Gregory, Stanley, Donjinina, and Shania, raised as siblings, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory. To know Kiki was to love him and he will be truly missed by many.

Dr. Anthony Johnson, Pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in McConnells, SC officiating. The family requests that attendees should wear shades of green and black.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, Friday, October 9, 2026 at Fishing Creek Baptist Church, and other times at the home of his brother, Darryl Brown, 44 Maiden Lane, York, SC.

Jerome Frederick “Spark” Brown, 60, of Clute, Texas gained his heavenly wings to Eternal Life on Saturday, September 26, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Philadelphia, PA on June 23, 1966, he was the son of Phillip Lowry of York, SC and the late Lovenia Brown. Jerome grew up in York, SC, though Clute, Texas has been his home for 17 years.

At a young age, Jerome joined Langrum Branch Baptist Church in York, SC. He served there in many facets of God’s Ministry under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Osbey P. Roddey. After moving to King of Prussia, PA, he became a member of The Baptist Worship Center Church under the leadership of Bishop M. H. Hunter. Jerome served on the Deacon’s Ministry, Worship Arts (Drama) Ministry, and Culinary Arts Ministry. Upon moving to Texas, following God’s call on June 7, 2009, Brother Jerome became a member of Greater Mount Zion Church in Brazoria, TX under the leadership of Elder Roland K. Hendricks. At GMZ, Brother Brown served as Voices of Zion Ministry Coordinator, served on the Praise Team, the Mission Ministry, the Marriage Ministry and was a leader of the Men of Zion Ministry.

Jerome has over 30 years of experience in management at various plants within the Nuclear Power Industry. He was a leader in every facet of the word and exemplified excellence in all work related areas. The South Texas Project Nuclear Operating Company was instrumental in Jerome relocating to Texas. He ended his life as an employee with Dow-Knight Facilities Management.

Jerome was happily married to his soul-mate for over 28 years, Lady Antoinette M. Brown. Proud parents of one son, Brandon Hailey and two adorable grandsons, Carter and Braylen Hailey. Four precious God sons, Trae Dunlap, Imari Floyd, DeMarlo Hayes and Troyce Lewis, Jr.; two God daughters, April Henderson and Eynia Crawford.

Jerome loved singing and performed with renowned artist Pastor John P. Kee and The New Life Community Choir of Charlotte, NC; The Chosen Ones of Rock Hill, SC; Union Gospel Singers of Rock Hill, SC; United Voices of Rock Hill, SC; Minister Kenny Curry and the Spirit of Faith of Rock Hill, SC; Patrick Love and the Junior Combination Choir of Charlotte, NC; Paul Hicks and the Combination Fellowship Choir of Charlotte, NC; and the Hayeserton Singers of Great Falls, SC. Jerome also had the opportunity to minister with Minister Christopher Gray of Charlotte, NC; Rev. Darryl Coley, Minister Chester Baldwin, Darlene Bonner, Jeanie Fields, Jerald Sidney of Texas and many other talented and gifted musicians.

Jerome is preceded in death by his mother, Lovenia Brown; grandparents, Arthur (Cash) and Peninnah Lowry, Andrew and Margaret Brown; and a host of uncles, aunts and friends.

Mr. Jerome F. "Spark" Brown, 60, formerly of York, SC, departed this life on Saturday, September 26, 2026 in Texas.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Friday, September 25, 2026 at St. Luke #2 Baptist Church in Sharon, SC. Burial will follow at Greater Unity AME Zion Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm, prior to the service.

Mr. Mack Junior Pendergrass was the only son of the late Ms. Annie Mae Pendergrass, as she passed away after giving birth to him. Mack’s sun rose March 7, 1961 on Bullock’s Creek in Sharon, SC, and his sun set on September 16, 2026 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC. He was raised in the care of his grandparents, the late Mr. Hubert and Mrs. Louise Roseboro Pendergrass. Due to his grandparents’ age and health decline, Mack was later cared for by his aunt and uncle, the late Mr. James and Mrs. Ardonia Pendergrass Roberts.

He was a resident of Divine Manor Assisted Living Center in Rock Hill, SC. He took the word “assisted” very seriously, so much so, that you would think that he worked there! Mack’s favorite saying was “Nope, nope, nope,” and that meant that he was either through with the conversation or it’s just not your day.

His favorite team, as you may notice, was the Dallas Cowboys!

Mack accepted Christ at an early age, and was baptized at St. Luke #2 Baptist Church in Sharon, SC. He later joined Greater Unity AME Zion Church in Sharon. Mack attended York High School and worked various jobs over the years.

In addition to his mother and grandparents, Mack was preceded in death by his father, James Thompson; sister, Angela Thompson Morris; brothers, Willie James Roberts and Oramae Roberts Williams; and his football watching partner and nephew, Timothy Ray Anderson.

He leaves to cherish his memory forever his sisters, Minnie Lee Pendergrass of Philadelphia, PA, Bobbie Wilson (David) of Smyrna, SC, Mae Frances Pendergrass of York, SC, Annie Ruth Roberts Wilson of Mooresville, NC, Marjorie Pendergrass Anderson of York, SC, Diane Roberts Gwinn (Arthur) of Sharon, SC, and Rev. Bernice Meeks of York, SC; a brother, William “Dub” Roberts of York, SC; five nieces, Jacqueline Pendergrass, Tonya Pendergrass Walker, Tiffney Wilson Rasberry, Tonda Wilson Love, and Jessica Pendergrass (his favorite); four nephews, Antwain Wilson, Jea’ceon Williams, his team players—Carl Anderson and Dedric Anderson; and uncle, John Earl Burris of New Jersey; along with a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
