Today marks 1 year since launching Wave of Words Speech & Language Therapy, LLC! 🌊🤍

One year ago, I took a leap and started this little business, and I’m so grateful for everything this first year has brought.

Thank you to everyone who believed in me, encouraged me, supported me, and helped me turn this idea into a reality. And an especially big thank you to the wonderful families who have trusted me to work with their children over the past year. It is truly a privilege to be a small part of their growth, and I’m so thankful for every family I’ve had the opportunity to serve.

Starting Wave of Words has also given me something incredibly meaningful personally—the ability to continue doing what I love as a speech-language pathologist while working part-time and having more flexibility and time with my own family. Finding a balance between being a mom and continuing a career I love was such a big part of why I started this journey, and I’m so grateful this business has made that possible.

I’m so proud of how much Wave of Words has grown in just one year, and I’m excited to see what year TWO brings! 🩵🌊

As someone who grew up as a military child, it means so much to me to now have the opportunity to serve the military community that played such an important role in my own life. It is truly an honor to support military families and their children through high-quality, personalized speech and language therapy.

“Is it speech or language?” 🤔 This is one of the most common questions I get from parents!

Here’s a quick way to think about it:
✨ Speech = how clearly your child says sounds and words
✨ Language = how your child understands and uses words to communicate

A child might:
• Speak clearly but struggle to express ideas
• Or have great ideas but be hard to understand

Both are important—and both can be supported 💛
