We are seeking elderly volunteers that want to give back!

Currently, I am looking for individuals 65 and over to help with clerical work/course development, and participation in focus groups. If you have any recommendations or are interested yourself, please call or text Pursuing Change

The non-profit’s  approach is founded in science, attachment theory and legacy wisdom. Focus groups will be established with the elderly contributing to the curriculum. All profits will go towards funding tiny home communities with staffed-support, enriching activities, peer mentoring and so much more. The overall goal is to not only teach emotion regulation and communication, but to bring families’ and community support back. In doing so the eventual goal is to change the way we care for our elderly population… having nursing home administrator credentials myself, I can confidently say the system needs revamped entirely. And almost EVERYONE deals with caring for elderly loved ones at some point…so everyone who can, should pitch in🤷🏻‍♀️😉

Exciting News!! I finally formed the Non-profit I have been working on/talking about for years. 🎉🤗 Any and all support is always much appreciated! Thank you ❤️

Pursuing Change Collaborative strengthens individuals, families and communities by fostering secure relationships, emotional well-being, resilience and lifelong opportunities for connection through education, evidence-informed programs and collaborative partnerships.

Long story short… the goal is to educate in the schools, jails, nursing home facilities, community centers, etc. everything you would learn in professional therapy, but proactively and without the limits of insurance and diagnosing.

A fascinating listen. I am seeing more and more dependence on phones at my practice. I feel most people dismiss how bad this is for us because most of us don’t feel a huge “rush” of anything when doom scrolling. This is partially because we quickly build a tolerance, diminishing the positive feelings. However, what it is doing to our reward system and the detriment it is doing to young impressionable brains is scary.

I know my son and I are going to sit down and make some changes, I encourage you all to do the same. I’m ok with not always being his friend, they will thank us later and it’s worth it;)

Happy 3 year (last week) anniversary to Pursuing Change Counseling!! I’m so happy to be doing what I love. Thank you for all of the support and especially thank you to all of the clients that continue to send word of mouth referrals my way and leave positive reviews like this one. It keeps me motivated more than you will ever know❤️ I’ve been on a waitlist for months and am looking to expand to a group practice in the near future ☺️
