Dear Friends,
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our friend and colleague, Greg Wess.
For many of you, Greg wasn’t just a representative from On Demand Occupational Medicine—he was someone you looked forward to seeing. He built relationships the old-fashioned way: by showing up, following through, and treating people with kindness and respect. Whether he was visiting a client, checking in with an employer, or simply taking the time to listen, Greg made a lasting impression on everyone he met.
To those of us who had the privilege of working alongside him, Greg was much more than a coworker. He was a trusted teammate, a mentor, and a friend. He had a servant’s heart and a genuine passion for helping others. That commitment wasn’t something he turned on during the workday - it was simply who he was.
Greg’s impact reached far beyond our organization. Through his work in occupational medicine, and his steadfast dedication to the recovery community throughout the Mahoning Valley, he touched countless lives. This year, Greg celebrated 16 years in sobriety—a milestone he carried with humility, gratitude, and purpose. He never forgot where he came from, and he openly shared his story because he believed recovery was possible for everyone.
Greg’s passing came as an unimaginable shock to all who knew and loved him. Following complications from what was expected to be a routine surgical procedure, our community lost a man whose life stood as a testament to resilience, redemption, and service. While our hearts are broken, we also celebrate the incredible legacy he leaves behind and the countless lives that are forever different because of him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Greg’s family, along with his friends and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. We are grateful for the time we shared with him and for the example he set through the way he lived, worked, and cared for others. He will be deeply missed.
In honor of Greg’s legacy, his family has established the Greg Wess Memorial Recovery Fund through Valley Recovery Partners. The fund will continue supporting individuals in recovery—the work that meant so much to Greg throughout his life and a cause he never stopped believing in.
