What a great Ypsi Pride! We loved meeting new community members, visiting with the folks we know, and most importantly, BUTTER THE DOG reeeeaaaallly appreciated all the pets. It isn't always easy to walk up to strangers and discuss mental health. We appreciate the bravery, curiousity, and resilience within each person who chatted with us.
If you were curious about the non-carceral crisis resources and didn't manage to snag a print-out, you can find a great one through Thrive Lifeline on their website. They are an all around fantastic resource for exploring safe and effective options.
Thank you to all the organizers and volunteers that put so much work into making this happen. We see and appreciate the labor and we know we aren't alone in acknowledging your super human helpfulness!
In case there was anyone particular person you spoke to and want to remember: IEG folks behind the table were Aesha Mustafa, Nina Nabors, Parker Kehrig, Alicia Paterni, Anna Potter, and Butter the dog. You can find more information about the therapists who were present on our website, www.integrativeempowerment.com
See you all next time!
P.S. Thank you to Funhouse Pup Cuts for the lovely puppy necklace for Butter and the very cute picture of her wearing it. :)
P.P.S. Thank you Kulkiran of IEG and Azaad Healing Justice Studio for taking and sharing photos, on top of their role in stage management and who knows what else for the event.
P.P.P.S. Also the lovely therapists from Dreaming Tree Counseling, LLC for being excellent tent neighbors!
