Yoga is for every body.

I know yoga can feel intimidating, especially when the images we see are of people bending into poses we can’t imagine ourselves doing. But that’s only a tiny piece of what yoga really is.

Yoga isn’t about being the most flexible or having perfect balance. It’s an individual practice. There is always room for modification, and every pose can be adapted to meet you exactly where you are.

The beauty of yoga is learning to listen to your own body. To move in ways that feel supportive, not forced. To turn inward, notice what’s happening within, and offer yourself the same kindness and compassion you so freely give to others.

Yoga isn’t about achieving the perfect pose.
It’s about coming home to yourself. 🙏

There is something so powerful about giving yourself permission to slow down.

Restorative yoga isn’t about stretching farther or working harder. It’s about allowing your body and mind to truly rest. Supported by props and held in just a few gentle poses, your nervous system has the opportunity to settle, your breath begins to soften, and your body can do what it was designed to do—restore.

Join us Wednesday, August 5 at 6:00 p.m. for an evening of slowing down, breathing deeply, and simply being.

If you have your own yoga props, please bring them—a yoga mat, bolster, blocks, and blankets will help you get the most out of your practice. If you don’t have props, don’t worry. We’ll have props available for you to use.

A special thank you to Casa de Esperanza - NorCal for partnering with Naturally Rooted Yoga and for opening the beautiful Hope Haven space so we can offer this time of rest and renewal to our community. I’m so grateful for their partnership and heart for serving others.

I hope you’ll join us. 💚

What to Expect in Restorative Yoga

If you're picturing a traditional yoga class with flowing sequences and lots of movement, this is something quite different.

Restorative yoga is slow, gentle, and deeply intentional. We'll spend most of our time in just a few fully supported poses, holding them for several minutes as the body begins to soften and the nervous system has an opportunity to settle.

This is an invitation to simply be.

To notice your breath. To observe your thoughts without judgment. To become aware of the sensations in your body. To let go of the need to fix, achieve, or accomplish anything.

There is nowhere to get to and nothing to prove.

Just an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and remember that healing isn't always found in doing more—sometimes it's found in allowing yourself to simply be.

I can't wait to share this practice with you.

I just completed my 30-hour Restorative Yoga Teacher Training, and it was truly one of the most insightful, grounding, and meaningful trainings I’ve ever experienced.

You know that feeling when something just settles deep within you, and every part of you says, “This is exactly what you’re meant to be doing.” That’s how I feel about restorative yoga.

Over the past year, life has taught me a lot about stress, uncertainty, grief, and the importance of slowing down. I’ve come to realize that so many of us are carrying more than anyone else can see. We live in a world that celebrates busyness, constant productivity, and distraction, yet so few of us are taught how to truly rest.

Restorative yoga offers something different.

It’s an invitation to slow down… to breathe… to reconnect.

It’s a practice of integration and healing.

And healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken, because I don’t believe we’re broken.

Healing is about coming home to yourself.

It’s about remembering your wholeness beneath the stress, the anxiety, the grief, and the endless demands of everyday life. It’s about reconnecting with the quiet strength, wisdom, and resilience that have been within you all along.

Sometimes healing looks like releasing tension you’ve been carrying for months.
Sometimes it looks like one deep breath.
Sometimes it simply looks like giving yourself permission to rest.

I believe restorative yoga is exactly what many of us need right now—not because it changes who we are, but because it helps us remember who we have always been.

I’m so excited to begin sharing this practice through Naturally Rooted Yoga, and I can’t wait to create a space where our community can slow down, reset, restore, and come home to themselves.

🤍 Healing isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about remembering that you were whole all along.

Sometimes we’re so focused on finding a cure that we forget to make room for healing.

A cure changes what’s happening to us.

Healing changes how we experience it.

That’s one of the greatest gifts restorative yoga has to offer.

Restorative yoga creates the conditions for healing by calming the nervous system, inviting deep rest, and allowing the body and mind to do what they were beautifully designed to do—restore, recover, and reconnect.

The more I've been digging deeper into the practice of restorative yoga, the more excited I've become to share all of the beautiful benefits it offers. One of the things I love most is that restorative yoga helps activate what's called the Calm Cascade™—your body's natural relaxation response. As you settle into fully supported poses, your breathing slows, your heart rate eases, and your nervous system shifts out of "fight or flight" and into a state of rest, healing, and restoration. It's a chance to C.A.L.M.—Connect, Attune, Let Go, and Mend—leaving you feeling grounded, refreshed, and renewed.

Some of the many benefits of restorative yoga include:
✨ Reduces stress and anxiety
✨ Improves sleep quality
✨ Supports healthy digestion
✨ Lowers heart rate and blood pressure
✨ Relieves muscle tension and chronic pain
✨ Calms the nervous system
✨ Improves focus and mental clarity
✨ Increases mindfulness and self-awareness
✨ Boosts emotional well-being and resilience
✨ Promotes deep rest, healing, and overall restoration

I can't wait to share this practice with our community and help others experience these incredible benefits for themselves.

I’m so grateful for this mindfulness certification course. It was a beautiful reminder to slow down, cultivate self-awareness, and check in with ourselves. The more mindfulness we bring into our lives, the more resilience and ease we can bring to life’s challenges. I look forward to weaving these practices into my yoga classes and sharing their many benefits with others. 🧘‍♀️💚

I’ve always believed that something greater is at work in my life each day. With every season that passes, I’m reminded that surrender allows us to move more gracefully from one experience, challenge, and transition to the next.

Some of life’s most difficult moments come when we resist change. Yet when we practice acceptance, trust the process, and believe that something bigger than ourselves is helping to guide our path, we can begin to find peace.

Spending quiet moments with ourselves offers a clarity that is often difficult to find in the noise of the world. Through meditation and yoga, we reconnect with who we are, discover the places where we need to let go, release our resistance to change, and open ourselves to the peace, growth, and joy waiting on the other side.

Sometimes surrender isn’t giving up, it’s trusting enough to let life unfold.
