Careless People is an extraordinary and deeply disturbing book published in 2025 by Sarah Wynn-Williams, a former Facebook executive. Facebook reportedly fought its publication, and after reading it, I understand why.

Toward the end of the book, Wynn-Williams explains in remarkable detail how Facebook inserted itself into Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. Facebook employees worked directly with the campaign, helping staff use the platform more effectively to reach and influence voters. The level of involvement she describes is specific, concrete, and terrifying.

She also documents the extraordinary concessions Facebook was willing to make to the Chinese Communist Party in hopes of gaining access to China’s enormous market. These were concessions Facebook had not offered other governments and reportedly included a willingness to assist with censorship and surveillance practices that could contribute to serious human-rights violations. In other words, Facebook appeared willing to help support some of the worst aspects of an authoritarian regime in exchange for access to a lucrative market. I had no idea how far they were prepared to go.

The book also exposes Facebook’s repeated refusal to place public safety or global responsibility ahead of business interests. Whatever Mark Zuckerberg may have said about connecting the world, the decisions described here were consistently driven by profit, growth, and power.

One especially astonishing example involved Facebook promising internet access to refugees living in camps—and then deciding they should pay for it. Some staff members actually had to ask whether refugees even had access to money. Are you kidding me?

And then towards the end of the book she makes it clear how Facebook got involved with the Trump administration to help get him elected, how they are working with China in order to support the government, and how they condemned Myanmar to genocide and the killing of over 70,000 people for absolutely refusing to take responsibility for the implementation of Facebook in that country.

The information is so much worse than I ever imagined. And this is the story of an idealistic woman who fought hard to work for Facebook because she thought it was a tool to help change the world. To make it better. To be a tool for building community.

By the end of the book I was weeping.

I am genuinely glad I read this book. It gave me a much clearer and more concrete understanding of how Facebook operates behind the public relations language.

The more we know, the better equipped we are to make educated choices about the companies and platforms we allow into our lives.

Well this is about mental health, living with recovery not perfectionism.. to me it's also one of the best videos I've ever seen about.... well.... just living. The new age industry sells perfectionism. It sells performance and presentation.

The reality is we are a mix of things. We are up and down and life is up and down.

To me being on a spiritual path, being awakened, having exotic gifts well they're currently exotic.... Such as future forecasting telepathy talking to ETS energy healing.... Underneath it all you are still a human .... In an incarnation that is meant to help you learn and grow as well as enjoy....and you have a life full of imperfections.

What I learned from my teacher and what I hope to help others with is how to live with your Self. How do you stay your own best friend. How do you stop trying to impress everybody or impress yourself. How do we have the best experiences possible even in the worst of times. How do we live with uncertainty?

I think the new age industry is so toxic it's right up there with coercive religions that tell you how to think feel and believe. Instead of helping you figure out for yourself how you think, how you feel, and what you believe at least right now because beliefs change through experience.
My best work is with people who don't fit into the norm and they know it. And they want to find a way to continue to live life that is meaningful and rich with experiences and filled with self-care and being your own best friend and support system. Free consultation for first time people

Western culture hates this idea. Most Western people who say they are spiritual/religious are that way so they can try to control their outcomes. Get more money. Have a better marriage. Guarantee their passage into heaven.

In the Eastern tradition You have already selected this life and what's going to happen. Now the challenge is how you live this life. Being the best version of yourself? Or will life challenge you and you become a version of yourself that you are not proud of? The outcomes you already decided before you got here.

For example; How is it that you see evil people become rich in powerful? They were going to be rich in powerful but doing it in a way that harms people in the earth that was their choice, their downfall.

When people get readings from psychics they usually want to hear about the good outcomes they're going to be able to achieve. But a true reading tells you about the trail ahead and then can advise you the best version of you tackling that part of the trail and the worst version. And also hopefully has the training and education skills and experience to guide you to make the best choices given the trail that you are on.

But in America people want psychics to know when they're going to get the money, when they're going to get the externals that they want. As if that will make you happy. It will... for about 2 months.
