Morongo Basin Healthcare District currently has an open seat on its Board of Directors. The board is recruiting a qualified candidate whose primary residence is in the eastern portion of Twentynine Palms. Applicants must be registered to vote in San Berardino County.

The board meets once a month in Yucca Valley, typically the first Thursday at 6:15 p.m. to conduct healthcare district business. Occasionally, an additional special meeting may be required. There is a small meeting stipend.

Interested persons should visit our website at MorongoBasinHealth.org for more information about how to apply for appointment to the seat, and to view the map to determine if their primary residence is located within the boundaries assigned as voting-zone 5. The website also presents minutes of board meetings which reflects how this board conducts business.

Morongo Basin Healthcare District and the City of 29 Palms invite you to a day of health and wellness on Saturday, October 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Pop in before you shop at the Farmer's Market and get free health screenings; connect with local businesses and agencies; and discover resources to help you manage your health. Meet healthcare providers and explore tools for better health. Free flu vaccines are offered by the County. Bring the whole family and celebrate health together!

San Bernardino County Public Health Department will be available at the October 10 Community Health and Resource Fair at 29 Palms Freedom Plaza to provide free influenza vaccinations for children, adults and seniors who live within San Bernardino County. Childhood vaccinations will also be available to children who qualify through the Vaccines for Children (YFC) program (by being uninsured or Medi-Cal eligible). Appointments are strongly encouraged by visiting www.myturn.ca.gov

Get your blood pressure read, your body mass index score and glucose measurement at the Morongo Basin Community Health Center’s health screening table at the OCTOBER 10 Community Health and Resource Fair.

Located in 29 Palms’ Freedom Plaza gymnasium, over 25 vendors offering health and resources will be available between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Your children can get a balloon animal while you’re getting your health readings taken. Join us for a day of health and shop at the Farmer’s Market, too!

The 2026-27 flu season in the U.S. is expected to start in October 2026 and peak between December and February. The CDC recommends the best time to get vaccinated is in September or October before the season onsets. Speak with your provider about getting your vaccination.
