On February 4, 2026, the Florida House passed HB 301 and HB 237, an important step forward for nurse practitioners and patient access to care in our state.

A sincere thank you to our bill sponsors Jason Shoaf for Florida House District 7 and Representative Michelle Salzman for their leadership and commitment to advancing thoughtful policy for Florida healthcare.

⚠️ Important: These bills are not law yet. Both must still pass the Florida Senate.

I filed HB 301 to allow qualified psychiatric mental health advanced practice registered nurses to provide mental health services autonomously, increasing access to our health care system for our rural communities while putting strong protections in place.
