After completing his Family and Community Medicine Residency here at Onvida Health, Dr. Patel is excited to remain in Yuma to continue serving patients in our community.

Dr. Patel earned his medical degree from the Gujarat Cancer Society Medical College, Gujarat University in Ahmedabad, India, before coming to Yuma for his residency training.

Rooted in trust and open communication, Dr. Patel focuses on whole-person care. He takes both physical and mental well-being into account, partnering with his patients to offer tailored care that fits their unique life goals. His clinical interests include preventive care, general wellness, and in-office procedures.

Knowledge is powerful, especially during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Last Wednesday, Onvida Health providers joined Yuma School District One faculty and staff for their monthly wellness program to talk about advanced breast cancer treatment. We’re grateful to the educators who spend their days teaching our community’s children for making time to focus on their own health.

From genetic risk to imaging, radiation therapy and surgery, our care team walked attendees through each step of the breast cancer journey and the care that is available right here in our community. Presenters included Dr. Robert K. Takesuye, Radiation Oncology Medical Director; Dr. Alan Osumi, Radiologist; Dr. Rochelle Gaudet, General Surgeon; and Gino Hassani, MS, MGC, Genetic Counselor.

Thank you to Yuma School District One for welcoming us and for being such a wonderful partner in community wellness. Together, we’re building a healthier tomorrow.

We're excited to welcome Raul Reina, MD, to Onvida Health!

Dr. Reina is board certified in internal medicine and serves as a hospitalist at Onvida Health Yuma Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Facultad de Medicina in Mexicali, Mexico, and completed his internal medicine residency at BronxCare Health System in The Bronx, NY.

As a hospitalist, Dr. Reina works closely with patients and their families during their hospital stay, ensuring they receive the care and attention they need.

We're proud to welcome Luc Lanteigne, MD, to the Onvida Health family!

Dr. Lanteigne is one of the recent graduates of our Family and Community Medicine Residency Program and is staying in Yuma to continue caring for the community he trained in.

He earned a degree in biomedical biology from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, and his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine, where he completed the Keith B. Taylor Global Scholars program, studying and training in the United Kingdom, Grenada and the United States. He completed an internship in general surgery at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL, followed by his family medicine residency here at Onvida Health.

His clinical interests include rural and community medicine, obstetrics and emergency medicine. Dr. Lanteigne is committed to patient-oriented care that respects autonomy and helps people reach their health and life goals.

Gold, all around us. 💛

This past Saturday, the Foundation of Onvida Health, in partnership with the AdvoKATE Foundation, hosted our annual Go Gold Walk & Lighting Ceremony to honor families who've faced a pediatric cancer diagnosis and raise awareness during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Our community gathered in the Serenity Garden, then, as the sky turned gold, lit necklaces in tribute and walked together around a hospital glowing gold in their honor. The hospital will continue to shine gold each night throughout September as a tribute to Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

It wasn’t just a walk or a color. It was a garden full of people who refuse to let any family walk through this alone.
