High impact. Low profile. → Otoplasty. 🌟

While otoplasty is often associated with very young patients, I also commonly perform this procedure on patients in their 20s, 30s, and beyond. Sometimes the timing simply feels right later on, and with a relatively quick recovery, it’s one of the highest-impact procedures I perform.

One of the things I love most about this procedure is that it brings back the focus to each patient’s unique features. Before surgery, your attention is naturally drawn slightly outward. Afterward, your eyes naturally connect with the person, allowing features like the eyes, jawline, and overall facial structure to take center stage. And this patient has exceptional bone structure! 🔥

I’ve always believed that the best facial plastic surgery allows others to better notice the person, not the procedure. It can also be common for patients with even subtle ear prominence to unconsciously adapt hairstyles, hats, or camera angles over the years. One of my favorite parts is hearing that they eventually stop thinking about those things altogether.

One of the unexpected joys of this profession is getting a glimpse into the lives of such interesting and incredible patients like him. His sense of humor, endless energy, and genuine kindness make every conversation a memorable one, and caring for him has been an absolute privilege. I can’t wait to hear the next chapter of his stories! 🐎

Some people have a way of making every room they enter brighter. This beautiful patient is definitely one of those people.

She is kind beyond measure, endlessly energetic, incredibly thoughtful, and someone whose optimism leaves an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Long before we ever discussed surgery, she already possessed the kind of beauty that can’t be created in an operating room.

My role was simply to help the outside reflect the vitality that has always existed within.

Through a personalized combination of procedures including deep plane facelift/necklift, brow lift, lower blepharoplasty, fat grafting, and CO₂ laser resurfacing, I was able to highlight her beautiful bone structure while preserving everything that makes her unmistakably her and better reflects her inner energy and vibrance.

Upper blepharoplasty is one of facial plastic surgery’s true hidden gems. A quick procedure with a quick recovery can brighten the eyes, restore a more rested appearance, and subtly refresh the entire face, all while remaining incredibly natural. Once healed, people usually notice you look refreshed... not that you’ve had surgery.

This one was especially meaningful. 🤍

This incredible patient has been a mentor and a constant source of encouragement and inspiration to me from day one. This lovely patient underwent upper and lower blepharoplasty, facial fat transfer, and CO₂ laser resurfacing to address both the deeper structural changes of aging and the skin itself. The result is brightening, softening, and a refreshed appearance that still feels completely natural.

This wonderful patient spends so much of her life caring for others while effortlessly brightening every room she walks into. It was truly an honor to be part of this lovely journey. Better breathing was the priority. Beautiful refinement was the bonus. 🤍

Sometimes the primary concern patients present with is nasal airway obstruction caused by structural issues such as septal deviation, airway crowding, or the cumulative effects of repeated sports-related injuries that can alter both support and airflow. In these cases, the goal often begins with something simple: breathing better.

At the same time, restoring function presents an opportunity to restore balance. Improving internal support and optimizing external contours often go hand in hand. This can all be strategically executed while preserving the features that make each patient uniquely themselves.

For this wonderful and beautiful young patient, we were able to achieve improved function, enhanced facial balance, and a nose that allows her naturally stunning features to take center stage.

She is every bit as impressive as she is kind: bright, driven, resilient, and an absolute joy to care for throughout this journey. Taking care of patients like her are one of the greatest privileges of this profession. ✨

I am deeply grateful for her trust and thankful to her and her family for allowing us to share her results with others who may be considering similar procedures. Being invited to play a role in moments like these is something I never take for granted.

Years ago, I sat in the audience learning from those I admired. This past weekend, I had the privilege of standing at the podium and thanking them. 🙏🏼

Returning to the department that trained me to deliver the Distinguished Alumni Lecture was a remarkable full-circle moment and an incredible honor.

Walking across the campus where I spent five of the most formative and challenging years of my life during surgical residency brought back countless memories: long days, late nights, difficult cases, invaluable lessons, and the faculty who helped shape not only my surgical skills, but also my character, work ethic, and approach to patient care.

I still hear their voices in my head every single day.

It was incredibly meaningful to reconnect with so many mentors and colleagues who invested in my training, meet new faculty who continue to advance the department, and spend time with the current residents who represent the future of our specialty. A huge congratulations to the graduating chief residents- it was such a privilege to hear your stories and be a part of this beautiful graduation day. 💫🥂

What struck me most was seeing how much the department has grown while still maintaining the same spirit of excellence, curiosity, camaraderie, and commitment to patients that made it such a special place to train.

I left feeling inspired and VERY relieved no longer be wearing those 4 pagers on my belt!! ✨📟 📟 📟 📟❗️
