💗📖 Getting Ready for Valentine’s Day Story Time 📖💗

In the days leading up to Valentine’s Day, try a cozy story activity that builds language and connection with very little prep. There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Rose is a fun, silly Valentine-themed story that kids love.

As you watch, pause and talk about the story:
• “What did she swallow first?”
• “What do you think will happen next?”
• “Was that silly or surprising?”
• “Can you tell me the story again?”

Younger kids can point, label, or repeat words. Older kids can practice retelling the story in order or making predictions.
A simple way to build comprehension, sequencing, memory, and expressive language — all while getting into the Valentine’s Day spirit. 💕
