Finally got on the table with Dr. Jason Pyeatt DAc, L.Ac.

Lumbar spasms are no fun. Even worse when they happen on a 9-hour flight 😩

Pain meds, muscle relaxers, rest, and gentle stretching helped, but my low back was still completely locked up.

While passing through NYC, Jason put me right back together. He released my psoas, hip flexors, paraspinals, glutes, and piriformis. I hopped off the table with zero pain and my ROM was back 👏🏼

Acupuncture + E-Stim are simply the best when it comes to muscle spasms. The proof is in the pudding.

This man is the real deal, and I continue to learn so much from him. Thank you, Jason, from the bottom of my heart. ❤️ We first met over a decade ago while volunteering with The Trevor Project. Who would’ve thought we’d reconnect years later as acupuncturists?

Very cool, my friend. Very cool. Much love. 💕

Electro-acupuncture is one of my favorite tools. Research shows reduced pain signaling in the central nervous system by stimulating A-delta fibers and releasing endorphins and enkephalins. It also improves local blood flow, calms inflammation, and resets motor patterns in muscle tissue. Clinically, I find it more effective for chronic pain, nerve involvement, and stubborn musculoskeletal injuries than traditional needling alone.

Electro-Acupuncture ▪️ Pecs. Quads. Biceps.

E-stim speeds up recovery compared to traditional needling alone. By increasing blood flow and reducing muscle tension it helps your body repair faster after heavy lifts.

Less soreness ▫️ Fewer barriers
Faster recovery ▫️ Better performance

Train hard. Recover smarter.

There’s a reason why dry needling is banned in California, New York, Washington, Oregon, and Hawaii.

Recently an NFL player received a pneumothorax (collapsed lung) from a dry needling session from an under-qualified practitioner.

The facts are this - dry needling is a term created by various health professionals in an effort to utilize needling in their practice without having to undergo the vigorous training a licensed acupuncturist is required to do. It is less skilled, less effective, and potentially dangerous.

Do your research and ask your practitioner how many hours of training was required of them to perform needling. Licensed acupuncturists typically need 2,000-3,000 hours of training in a Masters/Doctorate program. Some other professionals can get certified with as little as 50-60 hours. That math doesn’t math if you ask me, especially when needles are being inserted near vital organs.

Seek treatment from a licensed acupuncturist for the safest and most well rounded treatment. And if you’re a professional that wants to use needling in your protocol, out of respect for our industry and for the safety of your patients, please take the proper route of training to becoming a licensed acupuncturist instead of cutting corners.
