Beginning July 6, Plessen Specialty Clinic services will officially transition to the Virgin Islands Healthcare Foundation Rural Health Clinic (VIHCF RHC) in Sunny Isles.

This includes:
Nephrology - Dr. Khan and Chad McDannel, NP
Rheumatology - Dr. Dawiskiba

Our goal is to provide more connected, community-based care with improved coordination between specialty care, primary care, and dialysis services.

Plessen's location at Sunny Isles remains open for Primary Care. We are providing same day or next day appointments for acute needs of our established patients. These can be made by telephone or in person.

Please note that we no longer provide Urgent Care walk-in services.

We also no longer provide Lab services. Kindly take your lab request to a local laboratory of your choice.

Dear valued community members,

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that will be discontinuing Urgent Care and Lab draw services at our Sunny Isles location.

Despite our dedicated efforts, we have experienced insurmountable financial strain due to difficulties obtaining timely and adequate reimbursements from insurance payers as well as significant increase in costs for supplies for these services.

We understand the impact this may have on our community, and we sincerely apologize that we will no longer be able to provide these services to our community. Your support has meant the world to us, and we are grateful for the opportunity to have served you.

The Sunny Isles facility will remain open for our existing and future Plessen Primary Care patients.

We are making every effort to maintain access to care for your various needs. We will be offering same day and next day appointments dependent on availability with one of our Primary Care providers for any acute or sick visit needs that may arise.
