We were so excited to partner with Shore Prosthetics and Orthotics USVI to host a special orthotics clinic in our St. Thomas location this week!

With the help of Mitch Stuchlik from Shore Orthotics, our families had the opportunity to participate in initial consultations, ask questions, and learn more about how orthotic supports may benefit their children’s development and everyday activities.

Orthotics can play an important role in supporting:

Gait & Mobility:
Promoting improved foot alignment, stability, and more efficient movement patterns.

Balance & Postural Control:
Providing a stable foundation to support standing, walking, and navigating different environments.

Strength & Endurance:
Helping children move more efficiently and potentially reducing fatigue during daily activities.

Functional Participation:
Supporting greater confidence and independence in play, school activities, and everyday adventures!

We love collaborating with families and community professionals to find individualized solutions that support meaningful participation.

A huge THANK YOU to Mitch and Shore Orthotics for sharing their knowledge and helping us bring this valuable resource directly to our families!

Things are coming together!!!!

One of our St. Thomas SLPs is doing speech-language evaluations for students at Gifft Hill School in St. John starting Monday, October 19th.

We will be ready to hit the ground running when Mindy starts on November 9th!! We are thrilled to be able to support children in St. John!

Teamwork in action!

We love when opportunities arise to work on each child's goals in a social situation within our clinic space. With one activity, they are each working on individual skills with therapist support - occupational and speech-language therapy complement each other so well! Even better that we have an extra set of hands with our graduate student participating in sessions!

Teamwork makes the dream work!
Parent Involvement --> Progress!

Our team participated last year in coaching with Stephanie Wagers of Connect the Dots Learning Center to help us harness the power of parental involvement in therapy. As therapists, we sometimes forget how we naturally incorporate therapeutic strategies into our interactions with children, and learning how to more effectively share these strategies with parents (in a way they can incorporate at home) is a game changer for maximizing the impact of what we do.

Parents and caregivers (and teachers!), we LOVE it when you:

- participate in sessions with us

- share openly about challenges at home

- try out the tips we share and give us feedback on how it goes

- ask questions!

We are always working to improve our delivery of services to help each child reach their potential and make life a little easier for our families. Thank you for trusting us with the care of your children!

Make-a-Difference Monday! ♻️

Let's keep the momentum going! RePlastic Recycle is picking up #1, 2, and 5 plastics at our St. Croix location - families are encouraged to drop off their rinsed plastics!! We are making it easy to do the right thing!

RePlastic Recycle is implementing a sustainable model of recycling plastic to create building materials and other manufactured goods! This is HUGE for our small community in the middle of the Caribbean Sea.

Let's get our kids involved! Keeping trash off the roadsides and beaches - protecting our paradise!!

We don't get Sunny Jr. out on the road in St. Thomas that often ... but boy, do we love her! Ms. Aleah brings the therapy van to Little People Learning Center so she has a space to bring kids for speech language therapy, and we have loved participating in events at The Virgin Islands Children's Museum!

If there are any other daycare centers or homeschool groups who'd like us to bring Sunny Jr. for speech-language screenings, we would love to! Email us at [email protected].
