🇻🇳🇺🇸 VIETNAMESE MOM & AMERICAN DAD – A JOURNEY TO PARENTHOOD WITH A SWEET ENDING ❤️

After years of hoping for a baby, this Vietnamese mother had faced more than her share of challenges: a unicornuate uterus, endometrial hyperplasia, and uterine polyps—factors that made her journey to natural conception particularly difficult.

After much consideration, the couple decided to travel from the United States to Vietnam to undergo IVF, placing their hopes in IVF Hong Ngoc and embarking on their journey with Dr. Thuy Duong.

🌱 During the first egg retrieval, 14 eggs were collected. But for Dr. Thuy Duong, having eggs—and even creating embryos—is only part of the journey. Just as important is preparing the right “soil” to give the embryo the best possible environment for implantation.

The mother underwent treatment and polyp removal, while her endometrium was carefully monitored and managed. And even though she was living far away, Dr. Thuy Duong continued to support her remotely, closely monitoring her endometrial development and helping determine the most appropriate timing for embryo transfer. ❤️

And then, the moment they had been waiting for finally arrived—the mother returned to Vietnam for her embryo transfer!

✨ The transfer was successful—and their little baby was on her way!

Today, their beautiful Vietnamese-American daughter has grown into a healthy, adorable little girl, happily surrounded by the love of both parents.

A little girl carrying the love of two countries, and a precious gift after years of waiting, hoping, and never giving up. ❤️

On October 3, 2026, Dr. Pham Thi Thuy Duong was honored to participate as a speaker at R.E.I. DELTA 2026, organized in collaboration with HOSREM in Can Tho City, bringing together leading experts and physicians in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Assisted Reproduction from across Vietnam.

💡 At the conference, Dr. Thuy Duong presented on the topic:

“Endometrial Preparation for Frozen Embryo Transfer Using Transdermal Versus Oral Estrogen: Clinical Practice in Vietnam and Evidence from International RCTs.”

The presentation focused on reviewing emerging scientific evidence from international randomized controlled trials (RCTs), while also comparing these findings with clinical practice in Vietnam for endometrial preparation in frozen embryo transfer cycles.

By staying up to date with the latest medical evidence and engaging in professional exchange, fertility specialists can gain a stronger basis for individualizing treatment protocols, selecting the most appropriate approach for each patient, and working toward optimizing IVF outcomes.

🇳🇿 FROM NEW ZEALAND TO VIETNAM IN SEARCH OF A BABY – 14 MONTHS LATER, THE FAMILY RETURNS TO VISIT DR. THUY DUONG ❤️
Once upon a time, this family traveled all the way from New Zealand back to Vietnam, carrying their hopes and dreams into their IVF journey with Dr. Thuy Duong.
And today, in this very same place, the little baby who was once cradled in her mother’s arms has returned at 14 months old—healthy, happy, and absolutely adorable—to visit the doctor who accompanied her parents throughout their journey to parenthood. 🥰
It was a truly special moment to witness the “sweetest fruit” of an entire journey—from the days of waiting, anticipation, and hope… to the beautiful day when they finally welcomed a healthy little baby into their lives.

🌿 FOR DR. THUY DUONG, THE IVF LAB HAS ALWAYS BEEN AN INTEGRAL PART OF HER PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY.

My journey in IVF actually began from a very different position—working inside an IVF laboratory.

The years I spent in the laboratory gave me a unique perspective on assisted reproduction. Behind every ultrasound result, laboratory test, and clinical decision, there is an incredibly delicate and precise world unfolding inside the lab.

From oocytes and s***m to every step of fertilization, embryo culture, and embryo development monitoring, each process requires precision, patience, expertise, and above all, profound respect for these precious beginnings of life.

Perhaps because I once stood on the laboratory side of the IVF journey, I have always felt a particularly deep connection with the lab now that I work as a clinical fertility specialist.

I understand the language of the laboratory.
I understand the details that can be seen under a microscope but may never be visible to a patient.
And, more importantly, I understand that good clinical decisions can never be separated from close collaboration with the embryology team.

To me, IVF has never been the story of a clinical doctor or an embryologist alone.

It is a journey built by an entire team, with every individual playing a different but equally important role, all working toward one shared goal: giving each patient the best possible opportunity on their journey to parenthood.

Perhaps those years in the IVF laboratory helped shape the doctor I am today—a clinical fertility specialist who continues to carry a deep understanding, appreciation, and very special connection to the IVF laboratory. 💜

At 7 weeks and 4 days, this little baby has already given the sweetest first “hello” through a steady, precious heartbeat. ❤️
