🦟 DENGUE OUTBREAK UPDATE – SHEFA PROVINCE 🦟
The Ministry of Health has recorded 29 confirmed dengue cases in South-West Efate as of Epidemiological Week 26, with transmission continuing above the national alert threshold. No dengue-related deaths have been reported.

✅ Remove standing water around your home
✅ Cover water containers
✅ Protect yourself from mosquito bites
✅ Seek medical care early if you develop symptoms

🤒 If you have fever, headache, muscle or joint pain, rash, nausea or vomiting, seek medical advice. Take Panadol (Paracetamol) only for pain and fever, and avoid ibuprofen or aspirin.

Congratulations VCNE and MOH. We look forward to supporting our midwifery students on their attachments and playing a role in building the next generation of midwives.

This week, the Vanuatu College of Nursing Education (VCNE) officially commenced its first-ever Postgraduate Diploma of Midwifery. Marking VCNE’s very first Level 8 program, this is a monumental achievement for the Ministry of Health and a giant leap forward for maternal care nationwide. We are incredibly proud to welcome our first cohort of exceptional students who are stepping up to become the future leaders of midwifery. This is just the beginning—we look forward to expanding our intake in 2027.
