Reflection: Before anything else, take time to discover who you truly are. Let go of false ideas about yourself and turn inward to the quiet presence that is always here. This simple sense of Being is available in every moment. As understanding deepens, you begin to see that the same Divine presence shines in everything and everyone.

Look, I will tell you—this Atman is eternal. It has no age. It does not get old or young.

Today I was seeing a patient, and she was turning 75. I said, “Can I call you an old lady, or will you get offended?” She said, “No, no, you can call me.”

She said, “Why do you say that?”

I said, “There was a lady who was 79, and she said only 80-plus are old people. I am still young.”

So this old and young is relative, and this is only the body’s thing, you know. And none of us are the body in the real sense of Vedanta or the Upanishads.

And the Atman is the same. Atman never changes. After millions and billions of years also, it will be the same.

It never gets old.

So sometimes, when our body is growing old, we do not feel old because we are actually not old.

Or you can say we are so old that that oldness is a non-aging oldness. We have been there for so long, but never get old.

Reflection: In Talk 398, Bhagavan explains that the mind has become so used to thinking that it believes it cannot stop. This belief itself is the mistake. When we see that constant thinking is only a habit, we stop giving it so much importance. Then the natural quietness of the mind starts to reveal itself.

So these things need to be reflected upon all the time in our life—for small interactions and big interactions. When we speak to others, are we trying to show them down? Or when we talk about them when they are not there, can we speak the same language when they are there?

These are all checks to see whether the ego is still there, because ego knows only one thing:

Put yourself up and others down.

And sometimes it can also show us down. When we are depressed, when we feel bullied, it can take us the other way also. In both ways, it is not our friend. It keeps us at the edge.

And we are so sensitive. You know, sometimes we say, “This person is very emotional, he is very sensitive.” Actually...

A person who is too emotional or too sensitive is an idiot. Because he is so much attached to his own mind, thoughts, and what people are doing. That person is towards the other extreme end of this attachment.

Always thinking about this ego. Always trying to satisfy this ego. Always busy in his own mind, in his own thoughts.

You know, when you are too much in your thoughts...

Then you start listening to thoughts which are not there. You misinterpret what people are saying. You start reading too much between the lines.

Reflection: A true Sage lives in deep inner peace and remains rooted in Stillness. From this Stillness, unconditional love flows naturally to everyone. Such a person does not seek anything for themselves, because they already feel complete. Their life becomes a gift, quietly giving peace, love, and joy wherever they go. — Satsang of 1st May 2024

If you identify with the immortal, you are immortal. If you identify with the mortal, you are mortal. It is as simple as that. So you should know within yourself where you stand right now.

The biggest test of that is how much we worry about this body.

People say, “I am not attached to anyone.” Something happens to your kid, and you cannot sleep the whole night. But you can sleep soundly if something happens next door, or to someone you do not know. It is all attachment.

Someone gives the news that you have cancer, or you have some inoperable disorder, or whatever. Are you as calm and cool as you were before this news? All this tells us how much the body attachment and the mind attachment are there, how much “I” keeps going in us, how much “I have to do,” “I need to do.” All this continues in us.

How much, when we speak to others, do we use “I” all the time?

Or how much do we feel “I” within us?

Ego can be felt. Ego is felt all the time. Ego is like something protective, appears to be protective. The way someone speaks to us, we always try to hold what intention the person is speaking with, and then we are ready...

To retort.

All this construct looks very real to us. Can we live without this construct?

Without thought, in all circumstances? Because if we live without thoughts, then that is bliss, that is real happiness. Then we are happy in all circumstances. Then we are not looking forward to happy moments or moments of sensory indulgence, because we are always happy.

Reflection: In Talk 26, Bhagavan explains that the mind is always running from one thing to another. It must be gently trained to turn within. By paying less attention to outside distractions, inner peace begins to grow. With practice, calmness becomes natural and the mind finds rest.

Reflection: Thoughts come and go like clouds in the sky, so there is no need to hold on to them. When you follow them, they often bring doubt, worry, and confusion. Instead, turn toward the quiet Silence within, where true peace is found. In that Silence, all questions fade away, and you rest in the Source beyond conflict and separation. — Satsang of 29th Apr 2024

Right now, we think, “I am the body.” Anyone in this group who 100% feels they are not the body—they are already liberated. Anyone who never feels that “I am the body.”

The whole concept of this identity with a form is an invitation to death. Because we all know death comes to the body only.

But then someone can say, “What other identification should I look for?”

That is what all this Satsang and this practice is about—knowing what we truly are. If we know what we truly are, and we also say, “I am also this body,” then it is okay. When death comes, it will take some part of us.

You can say this gadget called the body will be dead, and you cannot interact with other forms, but you, in your essence, will not be dead.

But if you think you are the body, then definitely you will be dead.

It is all about your own understanding.

Reflection:In Day by Day, 10-5-46, Bhagavan explains that seeing does not belong to the eyes alone. The eyes are only tools. There is a deeper presence that sees through them. When attention turns to that silent Awareness, we come closer to knowing who we truly are.
