Most people are taught that a hostile spiritual presence must be fought, banished, dominated, or destroyed.

That assumption creates a problem.

If the presence is already operating from pain, distortion, obsession, or hostility, meeting it with more hostility can deepen the pattern rather than resolve it.

My approach to paranormal resolution begins somewhere else.

First, establish boundaries.

Then understand what the spirit is doing, why it is doing it, and what keeps it connected to the person or place involved.

The goal is not submission, it is resolution.

That distinction matters because removing a manifestation without addressing the underlying attachment can leave the real problem untouched.

In this reel, I explain how I approach Dark Force Entities when they become hostile, and why neutrality, questioning, and compassion can sometimes accomplish what spiritual warfare cannot.

What if some of the spirits we call “demons” didn’t begin that way?

Dark force entities are often described as inherently evil, nonhuman beings. My experience with paranormal resolution and shadow work has led me to a very different conclusion.

Sometimes what looks monstrous may be the end result of profound trauma, distortion and pain.

That changes the question from:  “How do I get rid of this evil thing?” to: “What happened to this spirit and can the pattern controlling it actually be resolved?”

This is advanced paranormal work and not something I recommend attempting without proper training and experience.

everything paranormal a demon.

That is still true.

But discernment also means being willing to accept that not everything encountered in spirit work fits neatly into the category of deceased human spirits.

William Baldwin used the term Dark Force Entities within his spirit-releasement framework to describe certain non-human intelligences encountered in that work.

Whether you use his terminology or another system, the important point is this: Do not let fear make the diagnosis for you.

And do not let spiritual naïveté make it for you either.

A strange presence could be a deceased person, a thoughtform, a guide, a created being, a land spirit, or something else entirely.

The work is to observe.

How does it behave?

Does it respect boundaries?

Does it answer questions directly?

Does it try to frighten, flatter, pressure, confuse, or control you?

Does the interaction leave you clearer and more sovereign or increasingly dependent and afraid?

That is discernment.

Not assuming everything is evil.

Not assuming everything is safe.

Discernment means neither fear nor naïveté.

The paranormal gets dangerous when fear becomes the diagnosis.

And suddenly the conclusion is: Demon!

But fear is not discernment.

When we decide what something is before we understand it, we stop investigating. We stop asking questions. We stop noticing the difference between a frightened spirit, a hostile spirit, an energetic disturbance, or something else entirely.

That is exactly how bad interpretations become worse situations.

The goal is not to assume everything paranormal is harmless.

The goal is to stop assuming everything frightening is evil.

Discernment means staying calm enough to observe what is actually happening, understand the nature of the presence, and respond appropriately.

Sometimes the biggest shift comes when you stop asking: “What is this going to do to me?”

and start asking: “Do you need help?”

We have romanticized spirit guides.

We expect them to be endlessly patient, gentle, reassuring beings who whisper comforting wisdom and tell us everything is going to be okay.

Sometimes they are.

Sometimes they are the spiritual equivalent of a drill instructor.

A guide can be compassionate without being comforting.

They may challenge you, push against your excuses, interrupt patterns you refuse to see, or deliver the same message again and again until you finally listen.

That does not mean every harsh voice is a guide.

Discernment still matters.

The important question is not simply, “Does this make me uncomfortable?”

Ask:

Does the guidance move me toward greater sovereignty, responsibility and growth?

Does it respect my ability to choose?

Does it remain consistent even when I question it?

Or does it use fear, threats, urgency and punishment to force compliance?

Learning to communicate with guides means learning their language and learning how to question what you receive.

A good guide does not need your blind obedience.

They care more about your growth than your comfort.

Most people were never taught how to communicate with spirits.

They were taught to fear it, ignore it, or assume that only a rare handful of “gifted” people could do it.

That creates dependency.

If you believe someone else has access to something you do not, you keep borrowing their perception instead of developing your own.

Spirit communication starts with natural human capacities: attention, intuition, subtle perception, pattern recognition, discernment, and practice.

Séance gives those capacities structure.

It teaches you how to open communication intentionally, recognize what you are receiving, ask useful questions, test the information, maintain boundaries, and close the work when you are done.

You do not need to become someone special.

You need to train the ability you already have.

Spirit communication should never require you to become permanently available.

One of the most useful things you can learn is the difference between being receptive and being accessible all the time. Those are not the same thing.

Good practice includes clear beginnings, clear endings, and the ability to say, “Not now.”

It also means understanding that attention is part of the relationship. If you respond to every impression, every knock, every dream, and every strange feeling, you can train yourself to stay hyper-focused on the unseen.

That is not mastery.

Mastery means you decide when the work begins, when it ends, and what gets your attention.

If your answer is always “demon,” you are protecting a worldview that has been thrust upon you by people who do not understand the paranormal..

Real paranormal work requires curiosity, testing, skepticism, boundaries, and the willingness to admit that the unseen may be more complex than the fear-based stories we inherited.

You do not become safer by assuming everything is hostile.

You become safer by learning how to tell the difference and acting appropriately.
