Frailty isn’t what you think.

Frailty is:
💡 A clinical state of being vulnerable to stressors
💡 Age-associated decline in resiliency and reserve

⚠️ Nearly 16% of men and women over 65 are considered frail

⚠️ Pre-frailty (meeting some but not all criteria for frailty) is estimated to affect between 28-44% of adults over 65

Believe it or not, the presence and course of frailty has less to do with how many gray hairs you have than the actions you take to manage and improve your health. Frailty is less often inevitable than it is inadvertent.

Where do you fall on the Frailty Curve?

No matter where that is, there’s always potential for improvement. If you seek the wisdom and guidance to realize those gains, we are ready to help. 🤝

“All that is important is this one moment in movement. Make the moment important, vital, and worth living.
Do not let it slip away unnoticed and unused.”

Don't have those diagnoses? Geoff ALSO goes into the little known reasons why mobility specifically helps combat the more common challenge with aging: frailty and accelerated physical decline.

🤕 Whoa!

Did you know people who fall LESS OFTEN are actually MORE LIKELY to be injured ⁉️

According to one recent study, people who fell 1-2 times per year reported more notable injuries than people who fell >5 times per year!

Why?

Well, authors observed that less-frequent fallers were more mobile day-to-day and thus tended to fall while doing things like walking. Compare this to frequent fallers who tended to fall from chairs, bed, or during transfers between the two.

Authors also noted that nearly 1/3 of happened with backwards loss of balance and 1/4 happened to the side. In our experience, most people feel afraid of falling forwards, but the study suggests that this happens less often.

In any case, no matter if you fall infrequently or often, falls are a leading cause of death and disability among people over 65 and there is a lot that can be done to PROACTIVELY reduce risk.

Scheduling a FREE consultation with us is a great way to learn how you can take control of your fall risk factors and move with better confidence.
