Welcome to the Long COVID Study! We are interested in learning more about the experiences of people who believe they might have symptoms of Long COVID, regardless of whether or not an infection with SARS-CoV-2 was confirmed by a laboratory test, and comparing their symptoms to two other groups of people: a) those who have never had COVID-19 and b) those who have had COVID-19 but don’t have any lingering symptoms. The app will be available in the App or Google play store - search for ‘Ethica’ or use the link here. The link can be used from your phone or computer.
2. For Smartphones: You will download the app and it will appear on your app screen of your phone.
3. For Smartphones: The first time you open the app or link there will be a few pop-up notifications. Click yes or allow on all of these. These ensure the app works correctly on your phone. If you have any concerns with these contact [email protected].
4. You will now have to register for the app using your email and login.
5. Once you login you will toggle through a set of introduction pages, make sure you read these.
6. If there is a button in the middle of the screen that says ‘Join Study’. Input the study registration code 1913.
7. It will take a second to load the study, so just wait on the screen that follows.
8. For Smartphones: If you login and see a banner at the top of your screen that says you have more steps to complete, ensure you click on that and finish those steps. Note: Persistent Notification - This means when you do receive a notification it will stay on your notification section of your phone until dismissed. It does NOT mean you will be given an excess of notifications. That’s it! You will now see your first questionnaire you will need to complete titled “Long COVID Questionnaire”. Once this is complete you will have access to a button called “Report Symptom” where you can report if you have a new or changed symptom. You will also be sent a follow up survey every month that will ask about any symptoms you have been experiencing. Thank you for participating in this study!
