Roots & Fruits Wellness GET WELL | BE WELL | STAY WELL
Holistic Nutrition & Live Blood Analysis by Josee Bosgra, NNCP My holistic health journey started when I was 13 years old.

After a childhood of digestive struggles, I finally wanted to get to the bottom of it. Over 10 years, I had the privilege of working with many practitioners who each gave me a tool for my kit to being well in today’s day and age. It wasn’t always easy, but I learned a lot along the way. I decided to pursue nutrition, as it made the most sense as an avenue to help people heal from the inside out. I

graduated with a diploma in Applied Nutrition from Alive Academy, and continued to become a Darkfield Microscopy practitioner I am passionate about sharing what I know with people who are hungry for healing! I especially love working with women who struggle hormonally, athletes, and those struggling with any measure of mental illness.

1. In the really severe early day moments, I kept the long-game as my focus. I supplemented with formula a couple of times for my mental health, and didn’t allow myself to ruminate on the thought of ruining our journey, despite the triggering memories. Those few supplemented feeds gave me what I needed (a release from pressure, sleep, ni**le rest) to get through that day, night, week, month. We have only used 1/2 a can of formula his entire first year! I’m celebrating that this week. I don’t think I’ve ever been so proud of an accomplishment. Breastfeeding is so insanely beautiful and I’m grateful for this story.

2. I listened to the Holy Spirit more than the advice. I’ll admit, asking God was not my instinct — it usually came after google, messenger, or texting a friend. But interestingly enough, when the advice said “set an alarm and pump every two hours” I felt that I was supposed to sleep. I did and my supply returned almost miraculously. God knows what we need. That's just one example. Wisdom from professionals and even other moms is so valuable. But above all, He is to be trusted.

3. Appropriate supplies. Man oh man, I wanna scream from the rooftop: USE THE RIGHT FL**GE SIZE after my first baby. The lack of that knowledge really destroyed the first time. It was tough at first mentally, but having a new and amazing hands free pump this time was a great investment. Whether it was nursing strikes or travelling, work or therapy, my in bra Mom Cozy really helped me ease back into pumping after a really horrible pumping experience. It was also helpful to have the right supplements, clothes, let's be honest STREAMING APPS for those early days (TV helped psych me up for feeds when ni**les were cracked!) We spend money to be equipped for new occupations.... This should be the same.….. you’re literally building your baby’s wellness foundation !!!!

To all you moms reading this while nursing, solidarity sis. 👊

Also huge thanks to both .md
(Go check out her latching logic!) and my friend for the support in the first few months. Support is the biggest game changer with breastfeeding. I can testify.

Hate to be the one to say summer is halfway over — but hey — let’s make the next month COUNT ☀️

Here are some of my favourite ways to eat in the summer. 👆

In summary, life is truly better at the beach eating a sandwich with Yorkshire Valley Farms chicken 🤤

Over the past 5 years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting hundreds of you—first from my basement, then Plaza One Jason Dvorakhletes.

This business was born during my first pregnancy with a desire to create flexibility for my new role as “Mom” which I view as my most important job in the world.

There is so much responsibility in being a working mom, as many of you know. Being pulled by beautiful gifts I’m called to steward, often feels like it’s in different directions.

Having a clinical space of my own has been so rewarding and though it comes with a cost, it allowed me to keep clinical work separate, which for a long time made sense. Since adding another baby to our fam, the trade-off of leaving home and renting a space hasn’t anymore. I have not been able to care for my physical location or my in person clients to the caliber that is right to me.

I’ve encouraged clients over the years to make difficult decisions to protect their health, even when it feels terrifying. It’s my turn to practice my own advice. With that in mind, I’ll be leaving my Lethbridge office at the end of August and transitioning to virtual consulting in September for the foreseeable future.

This is not goodbye. But it’s still not an easy decision. I love face to face. I love the problem-solving, the energy, the blood cells. Blood analysis has been a unique part of my practice and the main contributor to local success. I am so so grateful for that.

Online, I’ll continue offering personalized nutrition support, strategic supplement protocols, and functional lab testing. The main change is no consistent space to visit me for live blood analysis right now. The value of personalized guidance and follow-up care (even virtually) is high in the age of constant information.

If you’d like the face to face live blood experience, I do have availability for August so please DM me! I may have some pop ups over the coming months as well, but follow along for that.

Thank you for trusting me with your stories and families over the years. I am still here to be a wellness resource and will continue to serve the local community.

With gratitude,
Josee 🤍

True story, I spent a decent chunk of change on a fitness class last year and made it to two of six classes. 🫣

That’s just the reality of motherhood - sick babies, cancelled childcare, up all nights, etc.

That’s why I was so excited to hear that there’s a new Pilates studio that works around your schedule in a super innovative way!

Reformher is redefining fitness by becoming Canada’s first 24/7 Pilates studio.

You just pop on the BT headphones, choose your guided workout, and get to it !!!

I felt like I was in another world — and it was soooo good.

No rushing to make class times. No rearranging your life to fit the schedule. Just premium reformer Pilates, available whenever YOU are ready to show up.
