Acupuncture can be a supportive addition for those undergoing cancer treatment. Evidence shows it may help with:
✨ Improving quality of life
✨ Reducing pain and fatigue
✨ Easing hot flashes
✨ Relieving nausea and vomiting

Some studies also suggest benefits for neuropathy and mood changes, though more research is needed.

Acupuncture is complementary to your existing treatment and has no known adverse effects.

What about the 4th trimester? 👩🏼‍🍼

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the postnatal period is seen as a deeply important time for rest, recovery, and healing after birth.

We often recommend The First Forty Days: The Essential Art of Nourishing the New Mother — a beautiful guide that shares nourishing recipes and practices to support new mothers.

Focusing on warm, cooked foods and drinks during this time may help:
🧘🏼‍♀️ Support recovery
🔋 Rebuild energy
👩🏼‍🍼 Assist with lactation for those breastfeeding

Honouring your body in the postpartum period can have a lasting impact on your long-term health and wellbeing — making it a truly foundational time in a mother’s life.

Acupuncture can also play a supportive role in recovery by helping to balance hormones, calm the nervous system, and ease post-birth aches and pains.

Giving yourself permission for some “me” time during this season is so important — your body will thank you for it ✨

New research in fertility acupuncture 🤍

A recent study has explored the most commonly used acupuncture points across more than 200 clinical trials for infertility treatment.

Researchers identified a core group of points that appeared consistently, helping to establish treatment strategies aimed at regulating reproductive channels and supporting healthy blood flow.

The most frequently used points were:
✨ CV4
✨ SP6
✨ Zigong

Other commonly used points included ST36, CV3/6/12, GV20, SP10, BL18/23, LV3, and KI3 — all traditionally used to support the Conception Vessel and harmonise blood and Qi.

This research aligns with what we see in clinical practice and helps guide consistent, evidence-informed treatment approaches within the profession.

Increased support for endometriosis care 🤍

RANZCOG has received $7.45 million in government funding to help improve care standards for those living with endometriosis and pelvic pain.

This funding aims to strengthen education and training for GPs, specialists, and healthcare providers — with the goal of improving diagnosis, treatment, and overall patient outcomes.

For many navigating these complex conditions, this is a positive step toward better recognition and more consistent support.

New research in fertility support 🤍

A recent clinical trial has explored the effects of acupuncture for those experiencing diminished ovarian reserve and infertility.

In this study, participants received weekly acupuncture sessions over 12 weeks. Researchers found:
• An increase in antral follicle count compared to the sham group
• Improvements in AMH and FSH hormone levels

While this is a small study and further research is needed, it highlights the potential role acupuncture may play in supporting ovarian reserve — particularly for those preparing for conception or IVF.

If you're navigating fertility challenges and looking for additional support, acupuncture may be a valuable part of your care plan ✨

As you enter the final weeks of pregnancy, it’s completely normal to feel a mix of excitement, anticipation, and a few nerves as you prepare to meet your baby 🤍

From 38 weeks, Dr Kylie offers gentle acupuncture sessions designed to support your body as it naturally prepares for birth.

Research suggests acupuncture may assist with cervical ripening. These sessions focus on points traditionally used to encourage relaxation, promote softness through the cervix, and help calm the mind during this special time.

Bonus for partners ✨
Birth partner education is also available — teaching simple acupressure points that can be used during labour for comfort and support.

Care is always personalised and aligned with your broader birth plan and medical care.
