NUDOR - National Union of Disabilities' Organisations of Rwanda Promoting and protecting the rights of persons with disabilities in Rwanda

NUDOR is the civil society organization established in 2010 by eight national organizations of people with disabilities. Despite the strong political will of the Government of Rwanda in passing laws and ministerial orders, many people with disabilities remain socially excluded and without access to many of the opportunities that other Rwandan citizens benefit from. They represent a large proportio

n of those who live in poverty and those who experience gender based violence, Only a minority of children with disabilities are currently in school, and many are still hidden by their families

Very few are able to make it to University . Access to aids and rehabilitative support for visual , hearing and physical impairments is limited. A general lack of awareness amongst the population means that people with disabilities do not generally receive good services or support when they need health care, legal aid and advice, vocational training, employment, or access to the justice system.
