Today is International Overdose Awareness Day and this year, we acknowledge the many people whose lives have been impacted by overdose.

We also recognise the dedication of those working towards a future where fewer lives are lost and where support is accessible to everyone.

Overdose deaths are preventable—together we can .

Loneliness is more common than you think. In fact, 1 in 2 people living in Australia experience some form of social disconnection.

This Loneliness Awareness Week, we're encouraging everyone to create space for connection through small, everyday actions such as:

💼 Eat with others at work or book a different desk
🏫 Sit next to someone new at school
🏡 Stop and chat with people in your community, or visit a new local spot
💻 Leave a comment, or send a message instead of liking a post online

The Access to Community (A2C) program helps people build meaningful social connections, confidence and a sense of belonging within their local community.

For more information on how to get involved, you can visit: https://loom.ly/EgehgE0

Small moments of connection can make a big difference.

What makes you smile?

A favourite pet? Time with family? Playing with friends? We'd love to know!

To celebrate Dental Health Week, we're inviting children to share what makes them smile by taking part in our Wall of Smiles display, helping to spark conversations about good oral health.

Pick up a "What Makes You Smile?" activity sheet from our Belgrave or Lilydale waiting rooms, get creative, and add your smile to the wall.

Because happy and healthy smiles start with:
🍎 Eating well
💧 Drinking well
🪥 Cleaning well

Thank you to for this fun activity.

We can't wait to see what makes you smile! 😊

Our Diabetes Education team hope for a future where everyone living with diabetes has access to the support, understanding, and care they need.

Diabetes is not one condition—each type has different causes, treatments, and impacts on daily life. Greater awareness and understanding can help create a more supportive community for people living with diabetes, while improved access to education, technology and allied health services can make managing the condition easier. 💙

✋ All in for National Reconciliation Week 2026 ✋

Reconciliation will not happen by itself, and it will not happen without all of us.

It is a journey all Australians can take together, to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation and advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights every day.

How are we doing this?
⚫ Partnering as a health provider for students at Melbourne Indigenous Transition School in Richmond, and with Oonah Health & Community Services Aboriginal Corporation by providing access to a physiotherapist in Healesville.
🟡 Committing to actively advancing reconciliation as part of our next Reconciliation Action Plan, and creating an inclusive environment where every voice is heard, valued, and respected.
🔴 Undergoing a truth telling process about our history, as guided by the Yoorrook Justice Commission.

This week and beyond, we honour the cultures, stories, and histories of First Nations peoples. We also look forward to a future of continued healing and better connection.

Today we recognise National Sorry Day.

A day to reflect, learn and stand in solidarity with Stolen Generation survivors.

We acknowledge the Stolen Generations - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, as well as the ongoing, intergenerational impacts caused by past policies of forced removal.

We can all play a part in the healing process for our people and nation, which begins with truth telling and respect. 🖤💛❤️

At Inspiro (delivered by AccessHC), we support the active expression of culture to build strong, trusting relationships, and apply culturally appropriate practice within our work.

We are committed to working in partnership with First Peoples to create a welcoming and safe place for everyone at our workplace and service by removing barriers to make it easier for people to engage with us.

Did you know that walking to school can help children build healthy habits, improve wellbeing, boost confidence and connect with their local community?

Friday 22 May is National Walk Safely to School Day, an annual event encouraging primary school children to travel actively and safely to school.

We’re proud to partner with Yarra Ranges Council and Eastern Health to support safe active travel through our Walk to School program, helping students build road safety skills and confidence while creating walkable school environments.

Want to get involved? Here are some simple ways to support your child:

✔️ Plan and practice the route together
✔️ Walk with friends or neighbours
✔️ If school is too far, park nearby and walk part of the journey

Together, small steps can make a big difference for children’s health, safety and independence.
