Elder abuse is rarely what we imagine it to be. It’s not always visible. It’s often behind closed doors. And it’s most commonly carried out by someone the person knows and trusts.

This World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, we’re talking about what it actually looks like, why it so often goes unspoken, and exactly where to turn for help. 💜

Because the more we see older Australians fully - their voices, their rights, their safety - the harder it becomes to look away.

This Saturday, 16 May, CareAbout celebrates a special milestone: An official decade. 🎂 What first started as an impassioned conversation between two frazzled friends at a cafe in Highett, Victoria, has since evolved to become a dedicated organisation built steadfast on a single principle: No one should ever feel alone when seeking the quality aged care they deserve. 💛

Fast forward to ten years from our very first customer, CareAbout has helped over 135,000+ families Australia-wide. We continue to work hard to ensure no one feels left behind, empowering our extended community with the expert-led knowledge, practical advice and support needed to feel this incredibly important stage of a person’s life, comes with choice not compromise. 🤝
