We would love to invite you and the men in your life to our upcoming event

💪Men's health and nutrition often gets reduced to protein, strength and what the body looks like from the outside.

❤️We want to go deeper - into the changes happening on the inside that often go unnoticed until they show up as a diagnosis.

3️⃣ That's exactly why we created this. Our Men's Health event brings that message from three experts, in a relaxed room full of good food and better conversation not a lecture in sight.

Featuring:
🍏Helen Shah - Nutritionist & Pharmacist
👩‍🍳Angela Boggiano - Chef, recipe writer and food stylist
👩‍⚕️Dr Lisa Clift - Specialist men's health doctor

He can come on his own, bring a mate, or come with you - women are welcome too.

It's a genuinely fun night out. He might not even notice that he's learning something, it will just gently soak in over the evening and he'll leave with new knowledge, understanding and a full tummy!

Hosted by Helen Shah The Pharmacist Nutritionist - Registed Pharmacist and Associate Nutritionist and Dr Rach Hewitt who specialises in health behaviour psychology and fitness coaching.

Here is a quote from one of our past participants of our Beyond Calories Program

“I’ve struggled with abnormal liver function tests for years now they’re in the normal range. I’ve also reduced my waist size and gone down a 2 belt notches, plus I no longer need to take Loperamide regularly to manage my bowel symptoms.

One of the biggest game-changers was the psychology side. Without it, I don’t think I’d have been able to maintain progress or more importantly, get back on track when things got tough. There’s a reason I’m your number one fan! Thank you both so much.”

I felt I was stuck at the bottom of the mountain.

One thing my calf injury taught me is just how my clients can feel about nutrition before they start working with me.

When I tore my calf muscle earlier this year, I was given a rehabilitation plan.

Not an overnight solution. Not a magic fix.

A plan of small actions to repeat every day.

At first I was motivated.

As the weeks passed and the results felt slow, motivation became harder.

Sound familiar?

It's exactly what happens with nutrition and lifestyle change.

People start strong. Then they don't see instant results. They wonder whether it's working. They get tempted by quicker, more extreme approaches.

But the biggest lesson from my recovery is this:

Progress isn't always obvious while it's happening.

The stretches and exercises didn't feel life-changing on any particular day.

Yet those small actions eventually got me back on a padel court.

Healthy eating works in much the same way.

Small habits. Repeated consistently. Over time.

A huge thank you to my physiotherapist Nicola for helping me get there.

The hardest part wasn't the injury. It was staying patient.

Earlier this year, I tore my calf muscle playing padel.

One minute I was rushing around at 100 miles an hour, exercising regularly and packing as much as possible into my days.

The next, I could barely walk.

I felt like I'd lost part of myself.

What followed wasn't a dramatic recovery.

There was no miracle fix.

Instead, there were stretches. Exercises. Tiny movements.

Several times a day. Every day.

After the first few weeks it became much harder to stsy in track.

I wasn't back exercising. I wasn't back playing padel. I couldn't see the finish line.

That's when it would have been easy to give up.

Thankfully, I had an expert in my corner. My physiotherapist, Nicola ❤️

Every time I saw her, she assessed where I was, tweaked the plan and reassured me that progress was happening, even when I couldn't see it.

Three weeks ago, I got back to playing padel.
Since then, I've been on court almost every day.

I've got that feeling back of being me again.

This experience reminded me so much of the journeys my nutrition clients go through.

When you're trying to improve your eating habits, lose weight, improve your health or rebuild routines after life gets in the way, the finish line can seem a very long way off.

The temptation is to look for the quickest solution.

But lasting change rarely comes from drastic action.

It comes from small steps, repeated consistently.

Thank you, Nicola, for helping me trust the process.
