💤 What if you’re tired because you’re not breathing well while you sleep?

You can have Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and not even know it.

Snoring, waking up tired, brain fog, irritability, nighttime gasping, and high blood pressure can all be warning signs worth discussing with a healthcare professional.

✨ The good news: OSA is treatable.

At Love Your Jaws™, we help patients explore airway-focused care, including custom oral appliance therapy when appropriate.

Better breathing. Better sleep. Better days. 💗🩵

If these symptoms sound familiar, don’t just assume you’re “a tired person.” Let’s talk about your sleep and airway health.

Ever wondered what happens behind the scenes after your appointment? 👀

It’s the part our patients never see - but it might be the most important part of all. Every instrument at Love Your Jaws goes through an 8-step sterilization process before it’s ever used again: ultrasonic cleaning, high-heat washing, steam sterilization, and sealed storage.

We’re pulling back the curtain to show you exactly how we keep you safe - every tool, every time. Because peace of mind should never be a mystery. ✅

At Love Your Jaws Surgery Center, we believe the best compliment isn't a 5-star review - it's when a patient sends us their spouse, their parent, or their best friend.
That kind of trust isn't built in one appointment. It's built by doing the right thing, every single time - with board-certified expertise, robotic precision, and a team that actually listens.
If you've been told you "need to see an oral surgeon" and you don't know where to start, this is your sign.

The final episode of our series 🎬 - the questions patients whisper at 2 AM on Google instead of asking us out loud.
Today's question is the most-asked one of the entire series:
"Will I say something embarrassing while I'm sedated?"
Honest answer from Dr. Dimitrov 👇
Probably not. But if you do - you're safe with us.
Here's the reality of sedation dentistry:
Most patients barely say a word. Sedation puts you into a twilight state where you're either fully asleep or too relaxed to form real sentences.
But some patients DO talk. And here's why:
Sedation quiets the part of your brain that acts as a filter - the one that stops you from saying whatever pops into your head. Without that filter, patients sometimes confess crushes, cry a little, share family stories, or (yes, occasionally) propose to the assistant. It happens.
But here's what really matters:
🔹 You won't remember any of it.
Sedation medications cause what's called anterograde amnesia. Whatever you said, whatever emotions you expressed - it stays in that room with you.
🔹 Our team doesn't remember either.
This is something patients don't always realize. Our clinical staff hears hundreds of sedation cases every year. We're not sitting around dinner tables gossiping about who said what. It's not a story. It's just another Tuesday.
🔹 Those viral videos? Not us.
The videos you see online of patients saying wild things after sedation? Those are recorded by a family member with a phone in the car ride home — often without the patient's real consent. That doesn't happen in our surgical center. Our clinical space is private, quiet, and dignified.
💙 Your secrets are safe. Your dignity is safe. Your privacy is protected.

What actually happens when you're under general anesthesia with intubation for oral surgery? 🦷
Most patients never see this part. It happens behind the curtain, after you're asleep. So we're pulling back that curtain - step by step.
But before we walk you through it, here's the most important thing to understand about how we do it at Love Your Jaws:
You have TWO specialists caring for you at the same time.
🩺 Your oral surgeon - focused entirely on the surgery itself
🩺 A separate board-certified anesthesiologist — focused entirely on your safety, your breathing, and your monitoring
That separation matters. In many surgical settings, one clinician manages both anesthesia and the procedure. That's legally allowed. But it's not the highest tier of care. When there's a dedicated anesthesiologist whose ONLY job is watching over you, every possible risk is caught earlier.
Here's the full step-by-step:
1️⃣ Arrival, vitals, IV, and meeting the full team
2️⃣ Handoff to your dedicated anesthesiologist
3️⃣ Pre-oxygenation - 3 minutes of pure oxygen
4️⃣ IV medication - asleep within 30 seconds
5️⃣ Intubation - the breathing tube placed while you're fully asleep
6️⃣ Continuous monitoring of heart, oxygen, brain activity, blood pressure, breathing, and temperature
7️⃣ Surgery begins - two specialists, one patient, zero distractions
8️⃣ Waking up - anesthesia stopped, tube removed only when you're breathing safely on your own
9️⃣ Recovery - warm, comfortable, monitored until steady
🔟 Home to rest - no memory, occasional mild sore throat for a day
💙 Why we do it this way:
Because your safety and your peace of mind are worth more than shortcuts. Because we believe surgical excellence requires surgical focus - and anesthesia excellence requires anesthesia focus. And because you deserve to walk into your appointment knowing exactly what will happen - not wondering.
If you have questions about general anesthesia, intubation, or what to expect — drop them in the comments 👇 We read every one.

Episode 4 of our series - the questions patients whisper at 2 AM on Google instead of asking us. 🌙
Today's question is one we get almost every week, and it's genuinely important:
"Can I take a Xanax (or Va**um, or Ativan) before my dental appointment?"
Honest answer from Dr. Dimitrov 👇
Sometimes yes. Sometimes no. But there's ONE rule that always applies: tell us BEFORE the day of surgery.
Not the morning of. Not after you already took it. Not tucked into your intake form five minutes before you're wheeled back. Before.
Here's why this matters more than most patients realize:
🔹 Sedatives interact with anesthesia.
Xanax, Va**um, Ativan, Klonopin - these are all benzodiazepines. Many of the medications we use during IV sedation are also benzodiazepines or work on the same receptors. Stack them without planning, and the effects can multiply unpredictably.
🔹 The risks are real.
Blood pressure can drop dangerously. Breathing can slow. You may wake up much groggier than expected. In serious cases, we may need to reduce the sedation dose mid-procedure or postpone the appointment entirely for safety.
🔹 If we know in advance - no problem.
This is the important part. If you tell us at your consultation that you have anxiety or take sedatives, we plan for it. We may prescribe something specific for you to take the night before or morning of. We may adjust the sedation plan. We may add extra support during the appointment. All of it is safe, planned, and coordinated.
💙 Dental anxiety is real. It's one of the most common phobias in the world. Our entire team is trained to handle it with compassion. You don't have to power through it alone, and you definitely don't have to self-medicate to get through your appointment.
Just tell us. That's the whole message.
📅 Next Wednesday: Episode 5 - the final question in our series. 🎬

You've probably seen the headlines - "Scientists discover drug that grows new teeth." 🦷
And if you've been Googling it at midnight wondering if dental implants are about to become obsolete - you're not alone. We've had patients bring this up at every consultation this month.
So we did what we always do: we went straight to the science.
Here's the honest summary:
What's real: Researchers at Kyoto University have developed a drug (TRG035) that activates dormant tooth buds humans carry but never use.
🧑‍🔬Phase 1 human trials completed in 2024–2025 with no serious adverse events.
🧑‍🔬Phase 2 is now underway for patients with congenital missing teeth. Separately, King's College London grew tooth organoids in a lab in just 8 days.

What's not ready yet:
🧬These technologies are still years - in some cases decades - from routine clinical use. The Japanese drug targets specific congenital conditions first, not general tooth loss. Lab-grown bio-teeth are still in animal studies.
What this means for you today: A properly placed dental implant still carries a 95–98% ten-year survival rate. That's not a compromise, that's the gold standard of modern medicine.
At Love Your Jaws Surgery Center, we monitor every major trial, every FDA pathway, and every peer-reviewed study in regenerative dentistry. When these technologies are ready for patients, we will be among the first to integrate them.
We don't make promises science hasn't earned yet. But we never stop learning.

Yes. Someone actually asked this. And we answered it.
After wisdom teeth removal, the number one thing we're protecting is the blood clot in your extraction site. Anything that disrupts it - straining, elevated heart rate, physical exertion, or suction - can lead to dry socket. And if you've ever had dry socket, you know it's not worth it.
The honest answer: wait at least 48–72 hours for any strenuous activity. A full week if your surgery was more involved.
We know these questions feel awkward to ask. That's exactly why we created this series - because your surgeon should be the easiest person to talk to, not the most intimidating.
No judgment. Just answers. 🤍
