When people hear the word trauma, they often imagine one life-changing event.
But trauma isn't always one dramatic moment.
Sometimes it's years of feeling unheard.
Sometimes it's bullying.
Sometimes it's grief.
Sometimes it's an accident.
Sometimes it's a relationship.
Sometimes it's something that happened decades ago that still quietly affects the way we think, feel or react today.
One of the reasons I chose to train in BLAST Trauma Therapy was because I saw how many people were still carrying emotional experiences long after the event itself had passed.
Many people tell themselves,
"I should be over this by now."
But healing doesn't work to a timetable.
BLAST Trauma Therapy is designed to help people process traumatic memories in a structured way, with the aim of reducing the emotional impact those memories continue to have in the present. For many people, it offers an alternative to repeatedly reliving painful experiences through lengthy discussions.
Every person is different.
Every story is different.
That's why every session is different too.
My role isn't to tell you how you should feel.
It's to provide a safe, supportive environment where we can explore what may be keeping you stuck and help you move forward at a pace that's right for you.
π¬ Can I ask you something?
When you hear the word trauma, do you think it's something that only happens after major events, or do you believe smaller experiences can leave lasting emotional effects too?
I'd love to hear your thoughts.
