I HAVE SOME EXCITING NEWS

I am joining Dr. Alla Aver at The Center for Dental Healing in Glenview!

As some of you may already know, I had to close my amazing chapter at The Magnificent Smile because the commute was too hard on my family. It was a very difficult decision and I am grateful for the years I was at The Magnificent Smile. I miss the team and my patients, but I am thankful that now I get to spend more time with my boys. For the last few months, I have been searching for my perfect fit closer to home and I found it!

I fell in love with this office and Dr. Aver’s approach because it combines traditional dentistry with a whole-body approach to oral health. We believe that dental treatment needs to be tailored to each patient based on their medical history, clinical needs, and personal beliefs. With advancements in technology and materials, our goal is to always provide high-quality and safe dental treatments based on up to date scientific evidence.

Did you know smartphone addiction is leading to development and progression of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder (jaw joint pain, grinding and clenching)? Studies show that excessive smartphone use is resulting in a habitual forward or flexed head posture. This in turn leads to neck and jaw pain. This is especially important for children and adolescents, if not prevented they can be plagued by poor posture and rounded shoulders. This is why The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests parents restrict children between 6-18 years of age to no more than 2 hours of digital media per day. When using your smartphone, we recommend you hold it at eye level as much as possible. You can also set timers on your and your children’s devices to avoid excessive use.
