Could this be the greatest you're not doing?

I did 50 elephant walks per day for a week to put that claim to the test.

While "greatest" is perhaps an oversell, I did notice some surprising benefits:

- First, it's more of a workout than it looks
- It helped with and joint control, not just
- My range-of-motion improved every session
- It eased tightness in my calves and lower back
- After a while I found it pleasingly meditative

As with any exercise described as the GOAT, it's only effective when performed consistently and as part of a full-body workout that targets areas elephant walks miss.

Yet it's certainly earned its place in my post-workout wind-down routine.

Save this video to try these four moves later!

They'll boost your core strength and your balance.

I have a few customers who come to my weekly core workout class who struggle with mat-based exercises, so I’ve created this quick workout that swaps classic core moves for standing ones.

The moves:
Single-leg halo
Squat to opposite toe touch
Standing side crunch
Overhead march

Aim to do each move for 40 seconds (or 20sec per side) and take 20sec rest in between.

How to progress the reverse lunge without weights 👇

Lunges are great. Reverse lunges are aguably better because they can be gentler on your knees. But after a while, your body will adapt to the demand the reverse lunge places on it. If you keep doing the same movement the same number of times, you’ll get minimal benefit from it.

But all you need to do is learn some simple progressions to keep challenging your body so it develops muscular strength in response.

Certified personal trainer Amber Woolcock, vice president of LuxFit, has recommended four progressions that you can do at home without buying any extra equipment.

Which level are you on? Let us know in the comments.

The reps 👇

Round 1: 5 repetitions of each exercise
Round 2: 4 repetitions of each exercise
Round 3: 3 repetitions of each exercise
Round 4: 2 repetitions of each exercise
Round 5: 1 repetitions of each exercise

Rest for 30 seconds between rounds!

📌 for later and ❤️ if you try it

I challenged myself to do 10 before breakfast every day for 30 days

I thought it would improve my cardiovascular fitness and VO₂ max, but because I'm already relatively fit, the physical changes were minimal.

What surprised me most? The mental benefits…
- More energy first thing in the morning
- Better focus and mental clarity
- Less of the morning stiffness I'd been putting down to perimenopause
- And a real sense of achievement before 7am

It reminded me that sometimes the biggest benefits of exercise aren't the ones your smartwatch can measure. Would you try this 30-day fitness challenge?

Do you cool down after a workout? Be honest.

A cool-down can feel like an optional extra, but physician Dr Cristina Sciavolino-Day says that even a few minutes of gentle movement and targeted stretching after your session’s main event can help your body recover.

To help, Cristina has shared a cool-down routine that is suitable to help your body recover after a full-body workout, gentle run or brisk walk.

Thank you, Cristina! ❤️

Will you add it to your routine?
