When I tell my clients that the healing journey is ultimately about healing your relationship with yourself, most people resonate with it.
It makes sense. It sounds true.
But I don’t think most of us realize what that actually means until we begin experiencing what it feels like to relate to ourselves differently.
Because this is what it’s all about.
You are the one person you spend every single second with, from the moment you are born until the moment you die.
And that means every interpretation, every story, every meaning, every judgment, every criticism you have toward yourself impacts the way you experience your entire life.
It impacts how you show up. What you allow yourself to do. What you believe is possible for you.
This is why changing the relationship we have with ourselves changes everything.
Learning to give ourselves space to be who we are. Space to mess up. Space to understand ourselves instead of immediately judging ourselves.
Learning to support ourselves, accept ourselves, cheer for ourselves and the life we are creating.
And yet, strangely enough, this is the one relationship most of us take for granted.
Because the way we relate to ourselves feels so natural, so familiar, so deeply embedded in how we experience life…
That we often can’t even imagine relating to ourselves differently.
Until we do.
