Some urban wisdom bombs on this Valentine’s day ❤️‍🔥

Talking about self-Love has always been my biggest motivation for showing up and doing the work I do.

I went from hating myself, hating my body, from constantly criticising myself and being a perfectionist to the place where I can honestly say I love myself.

And you know what?

Loving yourself is a true GAME CHANGER.

It changes how you show up.
How you speak.
What you put in your body.
The people you choose to engage with.
The relationships you get into.
It changes your nervous system.

I honestly think self-love is an ultimate hack to getting anything you truly desire.

This is the work worth doing.

Lifestyle and diet changes are not a cure-all. Yes, I said it.

I mean no disrespect to anybody but hey, it is really frustrating when somebody tells you: “according to research magnesium or hot water bottles are as effective for period pain as ibuprofen”😬😅.

I’m a Menstrual Cycle Coach and I still suffer from horrible period pain every single month. And as far as I’m concerned no amount of magnesium or hot water bottles are able to bring any kind of significant relief when I’m suffering. Ibuprofen does.

I’m not saying it’s not possible to improve how you feel or eliminate pain entirely. It actually is VERY possible, but in my humble opinion not everyone will have the same experience by changing their lifestyle and diet alone.

I have been on a strict no sugar, no gluten, no dairy, no alcohol (and no pleasure 🤣) diet for the past 1 month, taking all the right supplements, yet tonight I have experienced a level of pain difficult to describe with words.

So if you are doing everything right and you still experience period pain - please know that although social media screams “it’s not normal to experience period pain” I am here to tell you - I see you and there is no shame in treating your pain in a way it feels supportive to your body.

Yes, lifestyle and diet changes can be HUGE for some of us, but it’s good to remember not everybody will benefit in the same way.

In our fast-paced, productivity driven society
rest is not just a luxury —
It’s a skill that needs to be
re-learned.

We’ve been conditioned to feel guilty when we pause.
To feel shame when we’re not producing.
We’ve been conditioned to define our self-worth by how much we do.

And if that feels “normal” to you...
if you feel resistance to these words...

Let me remind you — this conditioning didn’t exist before the Industrial Revolution.

That’s when we were taught to believe that more is better,
that quantity matters more than quality, that stillness equals laziness.
And that’s still how we operate as a society.
No wonder we are more anxious, depressed and sick than we have ever been.

And that’s how we keep going as a society.
No wonder we’re more anxious, depressed, and sick as a society than we’ve ever been.

The thing is:
Rest is not only essential,
it is absolutely necessary.
It is not a luxury.
it’s a must.

Rest is how we restore inner balance.
Rest is how we activate the parasympathetic nervous system —
responsible for healing, regulating, and digesting.
Without rest, your body literally can’t repair.

Like the Earth, we have our own seasons — times of expansion and times of retreat.
Honoring these cycles is a return to our true nature.
