We're incredibly proud of our CASAT team for their quick thinking, teamwork, and willingness to act during a medical emergency that helped save a life.

When a contractor experienced sudden cardiac arrest at our offices, staff immediately stepped in to call 911, begin CPR, and deploy an AED until first responders arrived. Their actions became a powerful example of the "chain of survival" in action.

This recognition from the City of Reno serves as an important reminder that CPR training, AED access, and community preparedness can make all the difference when every second counts. Read the full story below.

Tomorrow we observe . More than two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed, federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865, to ensure its enforcement and free the last enslaved Black Americans. Since then, Juneteenth has become a day to celebrate resilience and recognize the progress made toward a more equitable society.

CASAT and UNR will be closed on Friday, June 19, in recognition of this important holiday.

June is Men's Health Month, a good moment to think about the parts of men's health that often go unspoken: mental health, trauma, and substance use.

Men face real barriers to reaching out for help, many of them rooted in gender norms and stereotypes learned early in life. For behavioral health professionals, understanding those barriers is the first step to breaking them.

New from SAMHSA: a toolkit built to help Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics better serve service members, veterans, and their families (SMVF).

"Engaging Service Members, Veterans, and Families: A Toolkit for Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics" helps CCBHCs identify SMVF receiving services, understand military and veteran experiences, and apply that knowledge while providing mental health and substance use services under the CCBHC model of care.

It was created to support CCBHCs in meeting program requirement 4.K, and it also has broad applicability for other SAMHSA grantees and community-based behavioral health providers.

▶️ Streamlined Pharmacy Coverage: Effective January 1, 2026, Nevada Medicaid transitioned to a Single Preferred Drug List (sPDL), making it easier to track which medications for opioid and alcohol dependence are covered.
▶️ Clear Authorization Guidelines: The bulletin outlines specific Prior Authorization (PA) requirements and Quantity Limits (QL) for life-saving treatments like Naloxone and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) options.
