4 simple protein focused breakfast ideas 🧇 🍳

Be sure to save this post for your next grocery run!

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day! You have the opportunity to nourish and fuel your body first thing in the morning.

What you eat in the morning determines how you will feel and what you will eat throughout the rest of the day. Protein focused breakfasts will keep you full, energized and focused. You will also experience far less carb and sugar cravings.

Health food doesn’t come in a box.

When I first started eating “healthy” I searched the grocery stores and internet for gluten free, dairy free, soy free alternatives. I was constantly complaining that there was nothing for me to eat.

My bloat, low energy, brain fog, heartburn, acne, eczema and other symptoms persisted. I was so frustrated.

As I became more and more interested in my health and getting rid of my symptoms, I began cooking more. Suddenly, I was flooding my body with fresh, unprocessed whole foods about 97% of the time.

That’s when my symptoms went away. Real food heals you. It helps heal your gut. It helps heal your skin, balance your hormones, improve your immune system and lower inflammation.

While I love that there are more healthified products on the market now, I make sure the majority of my diet comes from fresh whole foods. This is where I feel my best and keep my sensitive stomach symptom free.

If you’re struggling with digestive symptoms, please DM me and I’ll give you a few tips on how to start incorporating more whole foods!

In 2018 at the height of my chronic bloating and health issues, everything I researched was about restriction.

Don’t eat that. Cut out this. Stop doing that. It was stressful and overwhelming. It made me terrified to mess up. I was scared to eat something off the DO NOT EAT list in fear that I would ruin my progress.

When I would go to the doctor, it was a similar story. I would be handed a print out with a long list of DO NOT EAT with no timeline. Was I supposed to eat like this forever?

I was really struggling. I felt like S**T every day. I would have done anything to feel better. But the diets were hard. It created a lot of imbalance. I felt like I couldn’t have a real social life or be me.

It wasn’t until I let go of the restriction. I tuned in to myself, focused on what made me feel best, and adopted an abundance mindset. When I did this, that is when I started to see the shifts in my symptoms and overall health that I wanted to see.

On January 17th, I am hosting a free 3 day Balanced Gut Reset. During the 3 days I will teach you how to nourish your gut to overcome your symptoms without restriction. You will receive a 3 day gut healthy meal plan along with live trainings Each day in the Well Belly facebook group.  To join the Reset, request to join the FB group through the link in my bio.

How to have a well balanced holiday

The holiday season can bring up tons of stress, emotions and old habits/patterns than we no longer align with. During this time it’s even more important to connect with yourself and stay true to who you want to be.
When we disconnect from ourselves, let go of the things that make us feel good and don’t listen to what our bodies need, we end up with more bloat, IBS and other symptoms.

So here is how I stay balanced during the holiday season
1. Keep my routine because it keeps me grounded and makes me feel like me. For me that’s moving my body daily, meditating, eating gluten, dairy and sugar free most of the time

2. Saying no to things that I don’t align with. If it’s not a hell yeah then it’s a definite no. There are so many events to attend and people to see during this time. To protect my energy, I prioritize the people who increase my energy, not drain it

3. Don’t stress about food! I make sure to nourish my body with adequate amounts of nutrients. And eat treats mindfully when I want them without guilt

4. Cook my favorite holiday dishes and desserts with gut healthy ingredients

What’s your favorite seasonal fruit or vegetable?

I’ve been all about the mandarin oranges 🍊 lately! Focusing on seasonal produce helps me incorporate more variety into my diet. Variety is key 🔑 for a diverse microbiome.
